Public Sector Banking Jobs after Graduation
Today banks offer adequate career opportunities for degree holders. Degree holders irrespective of their stream can participate in the recruitment process for bank clerk and bank Probationary Officer. B.Tech graduates are eligible to take up the role of IT Officer or Technical Officer in banks. MBA holders can try for job profiles like Personnel Officer or Marketing Officer.
Clerical Post
Graduates can take part in the recruitment procedure for clerical cadre in 19 public sector banks participating under IBPS. Bank of India, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank, etc are some of the participating banks under IBPS. Recruitment procedure starts with the common written exam (CWE) conducted by IBPS. Degree holders in any subject from any of the recognized Indian universities can attend this exam. Also the applicant must have working knowledge of computers. Age must fall anywhere between 20 and 28 years. Qualifying CWE of IBPS is not enough to get employed as clerk in banks. Qualified candidates should attend the interview of the concerned bank for final selection.
Probationary Officer Post
Selection of candidates to the job profile of Probationary Officer is also done through written exam and interview. Banks like SBI and authorities like IBPS conducts written exams for selection. Graduates (any subject) having completed the qualification from any of the recognized Universities can apply for the written test. Age of the candidate must be between 20 and 30 years. Written exam covers questions on reasoning, general awareness, English language, numerical ability and computer knowledge. Other than this, written test for SBI P.O comprises of questions on marketing aptitude also. SBI usually conducts a final round interview for candidates who have qualified the written test (for final selection). In case of IBPS, candidates qualified in the written exam will be issued with a score card. Based on the marks in score card, candidate can apply for interview by logging in the website of the concerned bank.
Specialist Officer
The profile of Specialist Officer is suitable for candidates holding professional degree. Professional degree holders in streams like HR, marketing, IT, technical, agriculture and law are eligible for Specialist Officer jobs. IBPS often conducts CWE for the selection of eligible candidates on behalf of the participating nationalized banks. B.Tech graduates or master degree holders in subjects like ECE, EEE, CSE and IT can apply for the designation of IT Officer Scale –I. Similarly MBA as well as LLB holders can apply for the concerned job profile. Age qualification required and selection process after written exam is the same as that for P.O profile.
