Dear Aspirant,


According to the Educational Qualification Require for IFS state that a candidate must have completed their Graduation degree in any field with the Subject like Botany, Zoology, Animal Science etc. are eligible......

Since You have completed Your Masters in Biotechnology then You are fulfill the Educational Qualification......

But for IFS age limit must be between 21 to 30 years if you are belong to General category, For OBC 21 to 33 years, For SC/ST 21 to 35 years......

If You satisfy Age Criteria then you are surely eligible for it.....

Attempt Limit:

  1. For General - 4 Times
  2. For OBC - 7 Times
  3. For SC/ST No Limit

IFS Stands for Indian Forest Service .IFS is Conducted Union Public Service Commission .

If you have completed graduation degree from Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent then you applicable for IFS exam.Need not require any percentage marks in graduation degree .Final year student are eligible for IFS exam.



This exam is not depend on Masters degree so if you have fulfill above mentioned educational qualification then you are applicable for IFS Exam.

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Age relaxation:-

(a)For SC, ST ,Ex servicemen = 5 years

(b)For OBC = 3 years

Number of Attempts:-


General candidate : 4 attempts , SC, ST candidates: No Restriction, OBC candidates: 7 attempts




Paper I - General English : 300 Marks
Paper II - General Knowledge : 300 Marks
Paper III, IV, V & VI - This section question papers are coming from your two optimal subject 200 Marks

Dear Saji,

The acronym for IFS is Indian Forest Services.

Yes, you are eligible for IFS examination.

Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) conducts IFS examination every year.

The eligibility criteria required for IFS examination are prescribed as below:-


* Completion of graduation in Agriculture or Forestry, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Geology, or Statistics or Engineering from any recognised college or university.

* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors.

* Nationality:- Indian.

* Final year contendors are also applicable.

* No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no limits for SC/ST contendors.

Yes, after doing M.Tech. Biotechnology one is eligible for IFS exam.

IFS - Indian Administrative Service and to become an IFS officer, one has to crack civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation degree exam or pass with Botany, Zoology/Forestry/Animal Husbandry/Biotechnology etc. from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness, apply for IFS.

IFS examination is conducted by UPSC every year for specialised Graduates and if you want to apply then you must be a Graduate in any one of those disciplines.

You must be an Graduate in any one of the following disciplines :

-Agriculture

-Agricultural Engineering

-Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science

-Botany

-Chemistry

-Chemical Engineering

-Civil Engineering

-Forestry

-Geology

-Mathematics

-Mechanical Engineering

-Physics

-Statistics

-Zoology

So if you have done Graduation in any of the above subjects then definitely you can apply for IFS Exam.

Age Criteria for IFS Exam:

General Category - 21 to 30 years

OBC Category - 21 to 33 years

SC/ST Category - 21 to 35 years

Selection Procedure:

The selection will be based on the performance in the written examination and interview.

INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION:
You are eligible for IFS exam after completing your graduation degree from a recognized university.
Educational Qualifications for IFS exam:
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Age Limit:
General - 21 to 30 yrs
OBC - 21 to 33 yrs
SC/ST - 21 to 35 yrs
Defence Personnal - 21 to 33 yrs
Ex serviceman - 21 to 35 yrs

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

•Apply offline by purchasing the application form from designated post offices throughout the country.

Yes you are most definitely eligible to sit for the IFS Exam.

Union Public Service Commission conducts the Indian Forest Service or IFS Exam. If you get selected then you will be elected for foundation training you will be sent to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy and then for specialized training to Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun.

You need to have any one of the following Educational Qualification to sit for this exam:-
  • You need to have a bachelor's degree in any one of the following subject: mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, geology, statistics, veterinary science and animal husbandry.
  • If you have done a degree in engineering, agriculture or forestry can also apply.
  • If you have a bachelor's degree in medicine or surgery then also you are eligible.

Age Criteria:-
  • Minimum Age Limit: 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 30 years

You need to cross the following stages to get finally selected:-
  • Preliminary Exam (Objective Exam)
  • Main Exam (Written + Interview)
Preliminary Exam Pattern:-
  • Paper I: General Studies- 200 marks
  • Paper II: Civil Service Aptitude Test- 200 marks
Main Examination:-
  • Main Written Examination- 1400 marks
  • Interview Session- 300 marks
Main Exam Pattern:-
  • Paper I - General English- 300 marks
  • Paper II - General Knowledge- 300 Marks
  • Paper III, IV, V & VI - 200 Marks for each paper
