I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for M.B.A after passing graduation with 40% marks.

For M.B.A you have to score minimum 50% marks.

For admission in top college you have to qualify the entrance exam like C.A.T, M.AT, X.A.T etc.

MBA stands for Master of Business Administration which is 2 years long post graduate course in business administration. Now there are two ways to get admission in a MBA college.

You will have to appear in two exams:

Common Admission Test (CAT)

Management Aptitude Test (MAT)


Now for you to appear in Common Admission Test is impossible for the simple reason. You need to score at least 50 percent marks in graduation course to qualify for CAT. Now there is a 5 percent waiver for the candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe etc caste but still you are short by 5 percent to appear in CAT exam. In short, CAT is not the possibility for you.


Now what is left for you is Management Aptitude Test also known as MAT. The advantage of MAT is that there is no minimum percentage required to appear in this exam. Which means that you with 40 per cent marks in graduation course can appear in MAT exam.

The MAT exam takes place 4 times a year and it is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA).

The only requirements for All India Management Aptitude Test is that you should have graduation degree.

Mimimum age to appear in the exam in 21 while there is no upper age limit

It is very important to remember that after appearing in MAT exam, you need to apply in colleges that give admission on the basis of MAT score. You have score Low Percentage of marks in your Bachelor degree . Even your Not Eligible for CAT Examination . So, It's difficult

Yes you are eligible to pursue MBA. When it comes to MBA, the percentage of marks at graduation level does not matters. Even if someone has just managed to get the pass marks at grad level then also they can go ahead and pursue this course.

However the opportunities definitely becomes limited when it comes to choosing the top MBA Entrance Exams which one can apply to pursue this course from the top B-Schools in India. Since you have 40% of marks at grad level therefore you can go for MAT Exam which is also like a national level entrance test like the CAT exam.
