Eligibility Criteria for BARC Recruitment 2013
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) invites applications from eligible candidates for technical or scientific officer posts in different categories. Some of the main posts include - Technical Officer/E, Scientific Officer /D, Technical Officer/D and Technical Officer –C categories. The eligibility criteria and work experience required for each post varies. PG degree in Horticulture with at least 9 years of work experience is the eligibility requirement for the position of Technical Officer/E.

Eligibility Criteria for BARC Recruitment 2013
Technical Officer/E
A post graduate degree in Horticulture is essential for candidates to apply for this post. It is compulsory to obtain specialization is subjects like floriculture and landscaping along with 60% marks in the qualifying examination. Candidates should also have 9 or more years of experience in this field.
Scientific Officer /D – Category 1
Candidates must have Ph.D (Physics) qualification in specific subject area of “X-rays usage at a high energy synchrotron beam line” with 60% or more marks from any of the recognized Universities. It is compulsory to obtain at least one year of work experience in area of - synchrotron based x-ray diffraction beam line.
Scientific Officer/D– Category 2
Candidates should have passed M.Sc (Physics) by scoring at least 60% marks. Along with this, it is also compulsory to hold a Ph.D qualification in the area of thin film science and technology. Work experience in areas such as Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and characterization techniques, Multilayer thin film physics, device design etc is necessary to apply for this post.
Scientific Officer/D– Category 3
Eligible candidate must have obtained a PhD qualification in any of the following subject streams from a reputed University.
- Photonics
- Optical Engineering
- Applied optics
Such candidates must have completed M.Sc degree in Physics with at least 60% marks. Working experience in any of the following streams is also essential to become eligible to apply for this category of Scientific Officer –
- Optical Meteorology
- Optical Design
- Interferometry
- Holography
- Fibre optics
Technical Officer/D –Category 1
B.E or B.Tech holders with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the following specializations can apply –
- Mechanical Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
It is also compulsory to hold at least 4 years working experience in areas such as maintenance and operation of chemical, thermal or petrochemical plants.
Technical Officer/D –Category 2
To apply for this post, candidates must possess an M.Sc degree with Botany as main subject. It is compulsory for candidates to obtain at least 4 years of job experience in relevant areas of ecological restoration, landscaping, bio diversity conservation and ornamental gardening.
Technical Officer/C –Category 1
A graduate degree in any of the subject streams like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Journalism is essential to apply. Candidates needs to complete graduate degree by scoring at least 60% marks. It is necessary for candidates to obtain a minimum working experience of 5 years in any of the reputed R & D institution or scientific publishing houses.
Technical Officer/C –Category 2
B.E/B.Tech qualification in Information Technology is necessary to submit applications for this category. In addition to this, candidates must have good programming skills in areas like RDBMS, Web 2.0, Enterprise Windows, Digital object archival & management and Red Hat/Scientific Linux Environment.
