NDA is the abbreviation for National Defense Academy. To enter this academy one exam needs to be given which is conducted by the UPSC twice a year. By giving this exam you can enter the following academies: Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy and Naval Academy.

To give this exam you need to be a citizen of India and this exam can only be given by the unmarried male citizens of India. Girls are not allowed.

Candidates of age group 16.5 to 19 years can sit for this exam and for entering each academy different educational qualification is required.

For the indian military academy subject combination at 10+2 level is not an important criteria because they just want a 12th pass out student. But for the air force and naval academy not only the student should be higher secondary passed out but he should also have physics and mathematics at 10+2 level.

The selection procedure for the NDA Exam basically includes: Written Examination, Intelligence or Personality test and Medical Examination.

For the written examination basically objective type of questions needs to be answered and there are two papers and time alloted for each paper is two and a half hours. The first paper is mathematics for which marks alloted is 300 and the second paper is of general ability test for which there is 600 marks.

Apart from this the interview session which is conducted by the SSB is also important because some marks have been alloted for that as well. As NDA demands candidates to be physically and mentally fit therefore the medical fitness test holds key to selection too.

Eligibility criteria:-


The candidate should be complete 12th standard in any stream from a recognised board or university.

Percentage is not important to apply this exam.

The candidate should be a citizen of india.

The candidate must be physically fit.

Candidate should be a male and unmarried candidate.

Girls are not eligible for NDA exam.

1. The nature of NDA exam is multiple choices which means you have to select the best possible answer among the alternatives given in the options.
