Re: Bsc applied microbiology or Bsc medical microbiology
Hi Steffy.. BSc Microbiology is a good option for higher studies who are willing to go for research and to work in laboratories. It is a new generation course, and have plenty of research opportunities in future. The basic eligibility criteria is to pass 12th with physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology or Biotechnology etc. The applied microbiology or general microbiology is dealing with pure microbiology subjects like microorganisms, their functions and characteristics in every field etc. Though, Medical microbiology is specific about the diseases caused by microorganisms and how we can tackle them. So B.Sc in Microbiology will give you more scope than a degree in medical microbiology. The leading institutes to pursue the course are Bundelkhand university, Madras Christian College, Lovely professional University, Pondicheri university etc.
