you can't appear for NET exam after M.Tech in ECE.

you are belong to technical field so you can appear only in GATE exam.

general science with master degree holders can appear in NET exam.

hi, I am from B.E ( ECE ) and got 53.7 % . and i have done my M.Tech in Embedded Systems with 68%. AM I eligible to write NET exam.

After M.Tech you will be eligible for CSIR NET and you have to opt Engineering Sciences as a subject in CSIR NET.

Also you must get 55% or above marks in M.Tech. then only you will be eligible for CSIR NET.

CSIR NET is conducted for following Science subjects:

-Chemical Sciences

-Earth Sciences

-Life Sciences

-Mathematical Sciences

-Physical Sciences

-Engineering Sciences

If you qualify CSIR NET then you will be eligible for Lecturership and Junior Research Fellowships.

For JRF you need to be below 28 years of age and for Lecturership there is no upper age limit.

Examination Pattern:

There will be 3 Parts having Objective Type questions.

-Part 'A' will be common to everyone and will have aptitude questions.

-Part 'B' will have questions related to your field of study. In your case it will be from Engineering subjects.

-Part 'C' will test you scientific aptitude.

The Full Form Of NET is National eligibility Test. This Test is conducted twice every year by the University Grants Commission.

The Test is conducted in the months of June and December every year.

Those candidates who are interested in the following are most likely to apply for the NET :

- Junior Research Fellowship Program

- Lectureship

The Qualifications Required for National Eligibility Test are :

* The candidate must have completed post graduation in any stream from any UGC recognized university.

* The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Post Graduation.

* Candidates pursuing Post Graduation in final year are also eligible for the exam.

* The Age Limit for NET :

1) For JRF : 21-28 years

2) For Lectureship : No Age Limit

So , since you are currently pursuing M.Tech in ECE in 1st year , there is no way out for you to apply for the NET Exam.

So , it will be better for you to apply for the exam once you complete the M.Tech course with a minimum of 55% marks.

I have completed my M.tech in Nanotechnology. From which subject I should apply in UGC.Net exam because there is no subject of nanotechnology in the UGC syllabus.
Or I should apply for Csir.UGC. net exam because there is physical science subject which has a similar syllabus what I have studied during my Master's.

NET exam is conducted twice a year for the lectureship at the university level and for junior fellowship award in research and developments.
Interested candidates can apply for the exam i they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria as follows:
The candidates must completed the post graduation degree with minimum 55% marks. However final year candidates can apply.
There is no age limit for lectureship but the candidates must be below 30 years for the NET JRF.
CSIR NET is conducted for the science stream candidates for five subjects while UGC NET exam is conducted for other stream candidates in more 85 subjects.
candidates are allowed to apply for their post graduation subject or its related subjects only.
As you have completed the MTech, you may apply for the UGC NET computer/ IT, CSIR NET physical science or UGC NET Electrical or other related subjects.
