I have compartment in chemistry only but my allover % is above 50 so can I appear in punjab pmet

# It is very sorry to say that you are presently not eligible for Punjab PMT. As it is required that candidate must be 10+2 at the time of joining concerned medical undergraduate course.

# However, it is provision that candidate appearing in 10+2 are eligible. In such cases, there is strong possibility of qualifying 10+2 before joining the undergraduate course after cracking the PMT.

# But in your case, you are having compartment in Chemistry. It means you have to sit again for Chemistry examination. After short period of time, the result of that chemistry examination will be declared. But in this whole process, the PMT process would have been already finished. In this way, you are not presently eligible for Punjab PMT.

# Please note that I am only saying that you are PRESENTLY NOT ELIGIBLE. It does not means that you are permanently ineligible. You will surely eligible for Punjab PMT next year.

# In the meanwhile, you should make maximum use of this one year for better preparation of PMT.

# Few mandatory requirements for Punjab PMT are:

* Must be permanent resident of Punjab State.
* Must have attained the age of 17 years.
* Must be 10+2 in subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
* Percentage required in 10+2 is 50% for general category and 45% for reserved categories.

As you have compartment in Chemistry, you will not be eligible for Punjab PMET at this time, but you can surely appear for the exam after clearing compartment in Chemistry.

Punjab PMET is the Medical entrance exam for admission in undergraduate programmes including MBBS and BDS.

The eligibility criteria required to apply for PB PMET exam are as under :-

-The candidate must have passed 12th class with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a government recognized board .

-The candidate appearing for final year examination can also apply for PB PMET Exam.

-The candidate must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

Exam pattern :

Written test will be of 3 hours duration for 200 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry Zoology and Botany subjects.Each question will carry four marks and there will be no system of negative marking for wrong attempt .
