Can I apply for UPSC exam after passing B.Com final year with 78% marks
Hy, I am Hanshika, l have passed b.com final year with 78% of marks. Can I apply for UPSC exams? Can you please give me details about its application form, syllabus,and enterance exams.

Hanshika , as you are a B.Com graduate then you surely can appear for the UPSC exam . Now let me tell you about your remaining queries . Application Form : The application form for UPSC will be available in the Employment Newspaper when the advertisement of UPSC will be flashed . For this you have to refer the Employment Newspaper from time to time. You can apply online also for the UPSC exam .For this refer the website www.upscgov.in Eligibilty : Nationality : Indian Age : 21 to 30 years for General category 21 to 33 years for OBC 21 to 35 years for SC/ST Educational Qualification : Graduate in any discipline from any category . Exam Pattern : The exam is conducted in three phases : I] Preliminary exam ---------400 marks It is objective exam . As you have passed b.com final year with 78% of marks you are eligible for applying for UPSC exams Details about its application form, syllabus,and enterance exams: Minimum age requirement is 21 years and Maximum age limitation is - 30 years. Selection process for CIVILS(IAS,IPS etc.) exam: 1) Preliminary Exam: Preliminary exam is of objective type which covers almost all the subjects .So, better to prepare the NCERT textbooks from class 6 to 12th of all subjects. 2)Mains Exam : If candidate qualify the prelims then you will be eligible for the mains exam.This will be descriptive exam. 3)Personal Interview: If the candidates successfully completes Preliminary and Mains then he is allowed for the Personal Interview. Required books and syllabus: 1)Indian History – India Struggle for Independence by Bipin Chandra; NCERT Books(XI&XII) 2.Geography – Spectrum 3.Indian Polity – Constitution of India by Bakshi 4.Indian Economy – Plus One, Plus Two Books, Pratiyogita Darpan 5.General Science – Tata McGraw Hill Guide 6.Mental Ability – Quantitative Aptitude by R.S. Yes, you can apply for UPSC exam after passing B.Com. suchas CDS and Civil Service Exam.
There is no requirement of any percentage of marks in Graduation for application to UPSC exams. CDS - Combined Defence Sevice conducted twice every year for an entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy. As a candidate from Commerce stream you are only eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS. The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years with good Physical Fitness, can apply for IMA and OTA of CDS. Civil Service Exam conducted every year to become an IAS/IPS/IRS/IFS etc. officer. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC. UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission. UPSC conducted by variety of entrance Exams: CDS Exam NDA Exam CSAT Exam SCRA Exam IES Exam. UPSC eligibility criteria is you should complete your graduation in any stream from the recognized university. But UPSC will have restriction regarding education qualification for the different post. Educational Qualifications The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. Age Limits A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination. The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases: Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years. Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years. UPSC New Exam Pattern 2013: UPSC conducts exams for civil services as IFS, IAS, IRS, IPS and others. It conducts the exam in three stages 1.
