I have completed my Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Now, I want to do B.Tech but from Information Technology branch. Would I'll be able to change the stream from Electronics to Information Technology? Would I'll be considered for lateral entry scheme upon changing the branch?

There is an entrance examination called Lateral Entry Entrance Test. In short, it is called LEET. Diploma candidates who want to get direct admission in second year of diploma can apply for this examination.

To apply for LEET exam, candidate must have at least minimum of 60% marks. You can change your stream if you are not interested in present stream of diploma. Your college and stream will depend upon your performance in LEET exam.
