IPS Stands for Indian Police Service and to become IPS officer you need to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination, The examination was conducted by UPSC Every year, The examination was held in 2 stages - preliminary examination and Main examination.

>> Firstly candidates have to cracked the preliminary examination, Only then they are eligible to sit in Main examination. Preliminary examination are Objective and Main examination was Descriptive. The syllabus and pattern of preliminary examination was already availiable in the UPSC website.

Eligibility for Civil Service Exams

IPS or Indian Police Service can be entered by clearing the Civil Service Exams conducted by UPSC every year..

Eligibility:-

1)you should be a graduate in any stream from a recognized college in India..
2) you should be within the age limit of 21-30 years of age for general category,less than 33 years for OBC and less than 35 years for SC/ST

you have a maximum of 4 attempts for general..

there will be two rounds..

1)Prelims :- this round consists of 2 papers..both objective and will test your aptitude,general knowledge and current affairs..

2)Mains :- if you clear the prelims then you will be eligible for the Mains..this is subjective paper and will test your knowledge of your graduation subjects..

if you clear both the rounds..then you will be called up for the interview and the final selection..

After 12 th you are not eligible for IPS exam.After graduation you are eligible for IPS exam.

IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

Those candiadte have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.

But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.
In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candiadte is 3years and for SC/ST candiadte is 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candiadte is Unlimited. For OBC candiadte it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be citizen of India.

To apply for the IPS you need to appear in the civil service examination conducted by UPSC.

The eligibility criteria to apply for the examination is that a candidate must be a graduate from a recognized institution in any stream and has age between 21-30 years.There is not any marks criteria.You just need to be a graduate.

As you are in class 11th so first complete your study.Then apply for Graduation.After completing graduation apply for the Civil Service Examination.

IPS is one of the Indian Civil service and this exam is carried out by UPSC every year.

As you have said that you have finished your +2 in commerce,you cannot apply for the IPS exam after doing only your schooling.

You must have done a degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage in any discipline as far regarding the education qualification of IPS Exam.

The other criteria's may include such as you must be a citizen of India and must have a age limit of 21-30 years and there are upper age relaxation for other categories.

Candidates must have not been a IAS or IFS officer before applying for the IPS exam.

Candidates must be physically fit while appearing for the IPS Exam as it is a important standard.

If you satisfy all the above criteria's then you are eligible for the IPS exam..

It is better you continue your studies and do a degree according to your discipline and then apply for the IPS Exam.You can do your degree in any discipline as it does not important

It is the best time to decide and start preparation for IPS.

After completing your 12th you can choose any degree according to your interest.

The minimum qualification is required for civil service examination conducted by the UPSC Government is graduation from recognised university in any stream.

IPS Exam Eligibility

IPS stands for Indian Police Service and for joining in this great organization, the candidates have to succeed in the civil service examination conducted by the union public service commission. The eligibility criteria for IPS civil service examination are given below:

Age requirement:

During the year of applying for the examination the candidate must have attained 21 years of age on 1st of August. So, minimum age limit is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 in the case of candidates coming under general category and 33 for OBC candidates and 35 for candidates coming under SC/ST category. Educational qualification:

Physical qualification for IPS:

Height: The male candidate should be 165cm and female candidate should be 150cm for general category candidates. In the case of candidates coming under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female.

Chest: Minimum requirement in the case of male candidates is 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. In the case of female candidates the minimum requirement is 79cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm.

Eye sight: 6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Near vision for worse eye is J2 and for good eye is J1.

The physical standards are essential for IPS, which includes weekly run for 10kms in 60 minutes, rope climbing, horse riding, PT obstacles, etc…
