In order to be eligible for Diploma program from any of recognized Institutions, candidate must have passed the Xth from a recognized Board. The duration of the Diploma program is three years. Candidate seeking for admission through lateral entry into the second year of the Diploma program must have passed the +2 level of Examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:i]Chemistry, ii] Bio-Technology iii] Computer Science, iv] Biology or with ITI Certificate in relevant discipline.

Hence, if you hold an ITI Certificate in relevant discipline with +2, you are eligible for admission in to the Diploma program through lateral entry.

obviously u can join 2nd yr of diploma in mechanical engg after completing your ITI course.for that you hahe to give voclet exam. if you get rank that exam u can get govt or private diploma colleges according to your rank.
