The application number/registration number must be known, in order to download the admit card. The admit card is not sent to the candidates by post and therefore, downloading the admit card online is the only way to have it.
Now, since you have lost your application number, you now need to contact the GATE officials for further help.

my self panchal keyur , i was lost my application number. so without it i cant achieve my hall ticket for gate 2012.
so plz help me ,if is possible....

Dear pal,
you can not download admit card without your application number. Check whether you have written it in the payment slip . But do not worry you can get your application number by approaching the officials.
Contact the zone to which you have applied either through phone or by person. Tell them your details and they will surely help you after which you can download your admit card by visiting the website of your zone.

According to the GATE-2012 Rule:-

"Admit card can only be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites from 2nd January 2012. Sending Admit cards by post has been discontinued. Bring the admit card at the test center along with at least one original (not photocopied / scanned copy) and valid (not expired) photo identification. ONLY one of the following photo identifications is permitted: Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID, Employee identification card, or a notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address. Photocopies of the original identification document are not acceptable. Candidates will not be permitted to take the test if original and valid photo identification is not presented.

Admit cards can be downloaded from 05-01-2012 17:00 Hrs onwards by clicking 'Application Status' "

So,friend to download admit card you have to give your Application Number (7 digits).

but by
going back to download history in my computer
i find it out the name of downloaded application form which was showing the application number too
