now i m doing b-tech ece, but can i give optional paper for i.a. s exam in hindi and g.s paper in english medium(because my optional sub is indian history and geography but i have studied s.st in hindi upto class 10th)while all other subject in english medium,so please give me ideas about language of the paper for i.a.s exam?

the language of IAS exam is either in hindi or english but there is no such option that you appear in the optional paper in Hindi & the remaining in english.try to make practice of History in english for a better performance.

IAS optional subject paper can also be given in hindi medium.pls don't be stressed u can choose any subject as optional and can be given in any medium.

yes brother you can give ias optional subject paper in hindi medium. there is no such restriction that you can not give them in english.

dear friend,
you will have to give the whole IAS exam in any one language i.e. either in english or in hindi. you can not any one optional subject in hindi and all others in english.

Yes you can give IAS in Hindi medium.

Give the whole paper in Hindi or in English...

But you can not give optional subjects in Hindi and Preliminary in English...

It is better for you to choose the medium Hindi throughout the exam.

If you want to chose optional subject as history and geography then you have to work hard to understand these subject in English or change the optional subject.
You can chose other subject.

Hello Friend,

IAS is really gud. Here, IAS stands for Indian Administration Services. For these type of civil services competion exam is conducted by UPSC once a year.

Eligibilty Criteria:

1. Graduate in any stream from recognied University.

2. Age Limit:

For general Category: 21-30 years
For OBC: 3 years age relaxation
For SCs/STs: 5 years age relaxation

Here, age relaxation doesn't mean you can apply before 3 years, it means even you cross the age of 30, you can apply after that also, if you belongs to the categories like OBC, SC, ST.


Medium of Exam:

You can select any medium. You can give your exam either in English or in Hindi also. But you should have to choose one medium, you can't select one subject in Hindi and rest all in English.


There are so many institutes, which are providing training for the prepration of such type of exams. You can prefer one of the following for coaching:

1. Chanakaya IAS Academy, Delhi
2. Raus IAS Academy, Delhi
3. Vajiram and Ravi IAS Academy, Delhi
