Any Medium candidates are eligible to apply for this examination but you have to write examination in English Only because the Question paper will be set in English Only .

SCRA Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination and this examination is conducted by UPSC Once in a year . This year examination has been completed on 20/01/13 . The next announcement will be publish in the month of October or November in the official website of UPSC as well as employment news paper .

Eligibility Criteria for SCRA Examination ::

~~ You must be Citizen of India or subject of Bhutan or subject of Nepal .

~~ You must have passed your 12th with Mathematics , Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and No % criteria required for this examination .

~~ Graduate degree with Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics may also eligible to apply for this examination .

~~ Those who are studying in the final year of 12th exam may also eligible to apply for this examination .

~~ You must have a minimum 17 years and maximum 21 years and Upper age limits is applicable .

~~ The application form are received only online mode and there is no offline mode application .

~~ You must be Physically and Mentally fit while appearing for this examination .

SCRA Scheme of Examination ::

~~ The written test carrying a maximum 600 marks and the marks will be ask from General ability , Mathematics and Physical Sciences .

~~ The Question paper in all the subjects will consist of Multiple Choices question and Negative marking for Wrong answers .

~~ The question paper will be set in English Only .

~~ Candidates are not allowed to use calculators and other electronics gadgets .

Yes,you will be able to give the exam of SCRA(Special Class Railway Apprentices) in Hindi Medium.The question paper of SCRA is in Bilingual Medium,that one side will be English and Other side will be Hindi.You can easily read the questions in Hindi and answers the questions from the given options.

But to appear in this exam,you will have to fulfill these Eligibility conditions :-

Nationality :-

• Indian.

Educational qualification :-

• You should be passed out in 10+2 with science stream from recognized university/board.
• Your subject combination in 10+2 should be Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics.

Age :-

• Minimum age should be 17 years.
• Maximum age allowed is 21 years.

Age Relaxations :-

• OBC candidates will get 3 years of age relaxations.
• SC/ST candidates will get 5 years of age relaxations.

Marks :-

• No minimum marks required to apply for this exam.

Exam Pattern :-

• There will be three sections.
• Each sections will be of 200 marks.
• Total duration of each section will be 2 hours.

Exam Syllabus :-


Section I (General ability Test) -

• English Grammar.
• General Knowledge.
• Psychological Test.

Section II (Physical Science) -

• Physics.
• Chemistry.

Section III (Mathematics) -

• Part I - It will include questions from Class XI.
• Part II - It will include questions from Class XII.

SCRA exam is conducted by UPSC and the question paper for this examination will be in both Hindi and English Language.

So you don't worry if you are from Hindi medium because the questions will be in both languages. So you can choose any language in which you are comfortable.

SCRA is Special Class Railway Apprentice and UPSC conducts examination for recruiting SCRA in the Indian Railway.

Educational Qualification for SCRA Exam:

You must be 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Maths from a recognized Board of Education.

Age Limit:

Should be between 17 to 21 years when you are applying for it.

Selection Procedure:

-Objective Type Paper

-Interview

After passing this examination you will be under training for 4 years with stipend. You will get all the benefits that a railway employee gets and after completion of training you will work as Apprentice in Indian Railway.

Eligibility of SCRA:

You must have Indian Citizenship.

You should complete the 12th standard from recognized state board of India.

You should required Mathematics , Physics & chemistry subjects in 12th standard.

Also you can eligible for the Graduate students also.

You should required PCm subjects in Graduation.

12th standard final year students are also eligible for this exam.

Your age limit should be between 17 to 21 years.

No upper age relaxation for the other categories.

Candidate should be physically & Medically fit for this exam.

Yes you can give exam in Hindi also as you will get question paper in both language so it will be your choice what you choose..

If you are applying for the SCRA entrance admission should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Eligibility Criteria of SCRA Examination:
You must have attained 17 years of age and must not have completed 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination. Certain categories of persons as specified in the Notice are eligible for age relaxation.

For admission to the examination You must have passed in the first or second division, the Intermediate or an equivalent Examination of a University or Board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.

Graduates with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects may also apply,

or

You must have passed in the first or second division, the Higher Secondary (12 years) Examination under 10 plus 2 pattern of School Education with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
