Re: Can I join bank PO after correspondence degree?
Degree through correspondence is not a restriction to apply for IBPS P.O. the only condition is that, the qualification must be obtained from any of the recognized institutes. Also your age must be less than 30 years. You will be evaluated in the same way as other candidates. No negative marking is there for graduates from open schools.

Re: Can I join bank PO after correspondence degree?
If your correspondence Degree is from a recognised Distance Learning University then you will be eligible for Bank PO examination.
There is no where written in notification that you should be an regular Graduate degree holder. It is written that you must have a Degree in any discipline from a recognised University. So if the University is recognised then no problem from you. Just take care that if you are applying for IBPS PO then you have to get 60% marks or above in Graduation then only you can apply for it. For SBI PO there is no need to get 60% marks and pass Graduates can also apply for it. The age limit for Bank PO is 21 to 30 years if you are a General Category candidate. There is age relaxation for other categories which is as follows: SC/ST Category- 5 years OBC Category - 3 years PWD Category - 10 years The examination will have Objective Type Paper which will have five sections and you have to pass individual cutoff marks in every section and overall cutoff marks also to proceed to next stage. There will be negative mark of 0.25 for every wrong answer. Those who qualify will be called for Interview and marks in this stage are also very important for selection. The merit is prepared on the basis of marks in Written exam and Interview. So don't worry and start preparing for the examination. For more information visit following websites: -For IBPS http://www.ibps.in -For SBI http://www.sbi.co.in |

Re: Can I join bank PO after correspondence degree?
Dear Nagaraju44,
The Acronym "IBPS" stands for the Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection. All the public sector banks excluding the State Bank Of India and its Group Banks came together in 2011 and decided that from onwards they will give the responsibility to IBPS to conduct a common written examination separately for the following posts : 1) Bank Clerks 2) Bank PO There are some eligibility criteria that the candidates have to fulfill if they want to appear for the IBPS PO Exam. These Eligibility Criteria are : * You must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university. * There is no any specific percentage requirement in graduation to be eligible. * The Age Limit for IBPS PO Exam is : a) For General Candidates : 21-30 years b) For OBC Candidates : 21-33 years c) For SC/ST Candidates : 21-35 years * Maximum Number Of Attempts Allowed : a) For General Candidates : 4 b) For OBC Candidates : 7 c) For SC/ST Candidates : No Limit So , from the above mentioned its quite clear that you will be eligible if the university from which you have done is recognized by the University Grants Commission or not. The Eligibility Criteria does not have any problem with the mode in which the degree has been completed. So , the thing that you have to consider that just check whether your university is UGC recognized or not. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |
