Correspondence Business schools is a growing phenomenon in the country nowadays. In general the business schools are referred to as those who offer the graduation or post graduation courses in the management stream mainly MBA, PGDM, and BBA. The number of candidates who take up the various courses in business administration has been growing. In the present scenario, many working people or those who are unable to take up a full time course because of family obligations or financial instability etc resort to another important medium or way of study that is correspondence courses.

The number of institutions or business schools who offer the graduate or post graduate programs as correspondence is scaling up. Now, almost every reputed institute or B-Schools in India are offering correspondence programs. The correspondence business schools offer programs in such a way that the individuals are provided opportunities the same way as one gets while taking a regular MBA course. Only the studies are not based on a regular format where in the classes are conducted only on weekends or evening etc.

Importance of Correspondence Business schools

The idea of correspondence business schools is a program which is new. The demand for these courses is increasing mainly due to the fact that the number of people who cannot attend the full time program is scaling up. In such a situation they go in for joining the correspondence programs which in a way covers the same structure, pattern and syllabus of a particular course which is offered by a full time program. The correspondence business schools offer programs such as MBA, various other diploma programs related to management etc.

Points to be kept in mind before adopting the correspondence courses

The correspondence programs which are offered will be covering the same pattern and structure as that offered by a full time course. But the only difference will be that the mode of study will be mainly through online. Hence the candidates need to ensure that their model of study will be suiting to that of a correspondence program and should foresee that whether it would be suiting to their model of study or not.

One of the most important points that are to be noted is that whether the correspondence program which are offered is accredited to universities which are recognized or can be autonomous bodies also. They also need to check if the course is approved by Distance Education Council (DEC). Other wise there will not be any value for the programs undertaken by the students.

There are certain employers or organizations that do not accept the correspondence or online MBA programs. In case of any positions which are vacant in that organization, there will be specification that the MBA should be a full time course and not that of a distance program. Even though the correspondence business programs have some drawbacks, the individuals opt for these courses because of the potential opportunities that one may be getting after the completion of this program.
