I have eyesight of -3.5 D. I want to join Air Force, but I have weak eyesight. I am Myopia. Can I join Air Force with Lasik laser operation or not? Can I join Air Force with or without glasses? I do not want to join as Pilot service. I want to join in Ground Staff Duty.

The IAF recruits for different branch like ground duty, technical and flying. Minimum visual Acuity- The candidates should have 6/6 vision in one eye and 6/9 in other eye, correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia. The candidates should not suffer from night blindness or color blindness.

If in case aspirants has eye sight problem like myopia or hypermetropia or astigmatism .
Myopia should not be more than 3.5D and Hypermetropia
should not more than 3.5D including Astigmatism.
Yes, you are eligible for ground duty branch of Indian Air Force.
The vision with or without spectacles should be 6/6 L & R. But , for flying branch ,you need to have clear naked eye vision at the time of joining/medical test.

VISUAL STANDARDS FOR INDIAN AIR FORCE:-

-One must have 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, which can be correctable to
6/6 only for hypermetropia.
-Near Vision must be N-5 each eye.
-LASIK Surgery should not have been carried out before the age of 20 years
-Candidates must not suffer from colour or night blindness
