Can I join in Indian Navy after doing Diploma in Nautical Science?
I have completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. If I take Diploma in Nautical Science also what is my chances of joining Indian Navy? Or, will I get direct admission in B.Tech Nautical Science via lateral entry?

The candidates who have passed 12 th with 75 percentage of marks and withmain subjects PCM are eligible to apply for Indian Navy. But the age limit is 16.5 to 19 years so make sure that even if you want to pesue B.Tech in nautical science then taking admission for Navy your age limit is also considered while selection.

••• After that you can join the Indian Navy through Combined Defence Services exam which is connected by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year. Or ••• Just after Diploma in Nautical Science you are eligible to work on ship as a Deck Cadet. |

You will have to pursue B.Tech course to become eligible to join Indian Navy.
You are not eligible for NDA. The eligiblility to appear in the CDS for recruitment in Indian Navy is that candidate must have passed Bachelor in Technology of Bachelor in Engineering from a recognised university. The age limit is 19-24 years. Entrance examination is conducted in two stages for final selection. For more information visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |

There is no such B.Tech in Nautical Science. However, you can do B.Tech in Marine Engineering course after completion of Diploma in Nautical Science.
As per requirements for taking lateral entry admission in B.Tech in Marine Engineering, you should have secured at least 55% marks in Diploma of Nautical Science. Apart from Nautical Science, if you have completed Diploma in anyone of the following courses, you are eligible for lateral entry admission in Marine Engineering.
Yes, you can join Indian Navy after completing graduation course. You can appear for CDS exam and join INA (Indian Navy Academy) after qualifying it. You will have to qualify Written Test followed by SSB Interview to qualify CDS exam. |

Yes, you can join the Navy after diploma in Nautical Science even after diploma in mechanical engineering.
To join the Navy first you can apply for the NDA exam. |

Yes, you can apply for the Indian Navy after completing B.Sc Nautical science with 60% aggregate marks from any recognized University/institute of India. You can join the Indian Navy through the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice in a year.

Yes, you can join Indian Navy after complete the diploma .
To join the Indian Navy first you can apply for the NDA examination. NDA stands for National Defence Services. This exam conducted by the UPSC twice in a year.. NDA has three wings: Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force. Eligibility:- You should be a citizen of India. You should complete the 12th standard form a recognised board. Candidate need the PCM subjects to join Indian Navy. No minimum percentage required for the exam. Age limit:- Your age limit should be between 16.5 to 19 years. Only unmarried male candidate are eligible. Female candidates are not eligible. Candidates should physically fit for this exam. Selection process: Written test Medical test SSB interview. |

Yes after completing of Diploma in Nautical Science course, you may get opportunities in areas like Indian Naval Sciences, Weather Forecasting Centers, Educational Institutes, Port Operations Companies, etc
For lateral entry you can enquire with the respective institute where you wish to take the admission, as it is possible that different institutions have different policy for lateral entry. After diploma if you like to continue your studies in nautical science you can take up Masters Course in Nautical Science. After completing this course, you may get huge opportunities in various fields. |
