No, Commerce student are not eligible for Merchant Navy exam.

Procedure for Merchant Navy exam:-

1)Written test
2)Physical test
3)Medical test
4)Personal interview

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy exam-

Those candidates who have passed your 12th or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from central/state board or recognized school are eligible for Merchant Navy exam.

Your age should be below 20 years.

As per eligibility criteria, commerce students are not eligible to apply for any course of Merchant Navy.

Eligibility criteria:

~~If you have done your 10+2 or appearing for it from science stream consisting of subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board, you are eligible for Merchant Navy.

~~The upper age limit for candidates of every category is 20 years.

The different stages of Merchant Navy exam is :

~~Written test.

~~Physical and Medical test.

~~Last stage of recruitment is Personal interview of candidates.

To join Merchant Navy, one must complete plus 2 with Physics,Chemistry and Maths as their subjects, with commerce background you are not eligible to join Merchant Navy.

Yes, it is true that you cannot join Indian Navy just after 12th with commerce stream.
But you can join Indian Navy after complete your Graduation with BCA, B.Com and B.A.L.L.B.

Actually with government rule you are not eligible for Merchant Navy with commerce stream but here is one company which provide Merchant Navy options for arts , commerce and science stream students after 10+2.

Details about Merchant Navy:

Merchant Navy is a non-combat commercial fleet.The import and export business done by Government and other private companies are done with favor of Merchant Navy.It is a transportation of vessels,cargo's,tankers and heavy vehicles.

For candidates who have completed +2 and wanting to join in merchant navy they can join in as a Deck Cadet. The qualification needed is candidate should have completed +2 from a recognized school board of education with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects and with at least 55% aggregate and apart from that 50% in English. Candidate applying should not have a color blindness and a eye sight of +/- 2.5 .

In the case of yours, you cannot apply for the deck cadet post because you have not completed +2 in science stream to satisfy the qualification needed. It is better that you do a degree in B.sc Nautical Science, B.E/M.E in Marine Engineering and then apply for joining in Merchant navy.

Soory friend, you are not eligible for nevy because your 12 th steam is commerce . Nd only those students is eligibly for navy who do there 12 at least Pcm subjects. There r four test are compulsary for the Navy .

for Merchant Navy you should require to complete 12th with science subjects like Physics,Chemistry a and Mathematics.

The Exam is conducted in three stages vise Written Exam, Physical Examination and Interview.

Sorry you are not eligible for joining either Indian Navy or Indian Air force having pursued your senior secondary course with commerce .

As for joining Merchant Navy after 12th you need to crack NDA examination for which you must have done your 12th with physics , chemistry and Mathematics as your main subjects which you do not have .

But if you are interested to join defense service then you can opt for Indian army as for this wing of NDA you just have to be 12th passed applicant with any stream of your choice .

But for this examination you must be an unmarried male candidate with age within 16.5 years to 19 years .

You can also join Indian Military after your graduation but then you will have to go through CDS examination for which your age must be within 19 years to 24 years .
