Hi Sir, my name is Karan Kamalkishor Choudary and I'm from India and I have completed HSC. My stream was Commerce. How can I get job in Merchant Navy? Am I eligible for any post or any department in Merchant Navt? Is there any entrance required?

Note that Commerce graduates are not eligible for joining Merchant Navy.

So, if you are planning to join Merchant Navy, then you will have to do graduation in this field to get any post in Merchant Navy.

In this case, your graduation in Commerce will not be counted.

There are 2 ways to join Merchant Navy namely:
Engine Side - For joining Engine side, you will have to do 4 years of Marine Engineering course or 1 year of Pre-Sea Training after completing Mechanical engineering
Deck Side - For joining Deck side, you will have to do 3 years of Nautical Studies from marine engineering college.

But for getting admission into these marine engineering colleges, you should have completed your 10+2 with PCM stream (i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

Entrance exam will be conducted by the institute itself. While most of the institutes admit candidates on the basis of JEE Main marks.

The most common eligiblility to appear for Merchant Navy recruitment is that candidate must have passed 12th from a recognised board.

Candidates passed 12th in PCM are eligible to join the Merchant Navy after qualifying in the various stages of examination.

So, you are not eligible for the recruitment in Merchant Navy.
