NDA stand for National Defence Service Exam.This exam is conduct twice time in a year.This exam is conducted by UPSC.

NDA Examination is conducted in 3 wings:

• Indian Air Force
• Indian Navy
• Indian Army

If you have completed 12th standard from recognized board with science department you are applicable for NDA exam in all three wings but if you are a Commerce or Arts student ,then you are applicable for only Indian Army branch.

But your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.There is no age relaxation for any reserved category.

Only unmarried male candidate are applicable for NDA exam.You must have citizenship of India.

Yes, you are eligible to apply for NDA provided you fulfill all eligibility criteria.

NDA stands for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY, the entrance exam of which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry into Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years of age with good Physical Fitness.

According to age of the candidate height and weight is prescribed.

As you say, you have height of 157 cm. you are quite eligible for NDA examination.



The educational qualification needed for this examination is a 12th degree.
For apply in AIR & NAVAL FORCE, you must have Physics & Maths in 12th,.You must have scored at least 60% in 12th.

Basic eligibility required for NDA are:

- You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
-only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
-candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply.
- Age : From 19 Years to 24 years. Engineer graduates 20 to 27 years
- Degree. BA, B.Sc or B.Tech/BE
- No. of attempts is less than or equal to 4.


Physical standard required are:
1. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
2. The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cms. For Women candidates minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.
3. There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body.
4. The hearing should be normal
5. A male candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye with or without glasses. For women candidates the minimum acceptable visual acuity are Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18.
6. A candidate should be able to recognize red and green colors
