I have failed my 9th final exam so can I re-take my 9th final exam to get promoted to 10th grade in ICSE Board? Or, will I get promoted directly? Or, should I appear for 10th as a private candidate which will save one year of mine? Please suggest.

If you have failed in only one subject in your 9th class final exam then you can give compartment exam of that particular subject and can get promoted to 10th class.

But if you have failed in more than 1 subject then you have to restudy your entire 9th cass.

Yeah if you want to save your one year then you can apply for private 10th class exams.

But be careful maybe they could be fake boards.

As legal boards generally don't allow to enter as a private student or regular student in 10th without clear passed marksheet of 9th class.
