Compartmental examination is held with the motto of avoiding a loss of academic year of a student having failed in one of the subjects of its board examination.

No you cannot appear for the compartmental examination of next year. Once you miss the opportunity of compartmental examination in the same year in which you have appeared in the board examination then you have to reappear in your board examinations once again to improve your result.

The application for compartmental examination is filled within the 22 working days after the declaration of results and the forms are made available on the official website of respective board.
