Hi

IIT is the Indian Institute of Technology and these are the top most technical institutes in the country. They conduct the exam called IIT JEE i.e Joint Entrance Examination.

This is conducted once every year in the month of April right after the board exams are concluded.

The Basic Eligibility Criteria to apply and sit for the IIT JEE is that you should be a minimum 12th clas pass from a recognized school with PCM as compulsory subjects.

One must have scored a bare minimum 60% aggregate in it to sit for the IIT.

IIT Grants 2 attempts and so 2, or 1 of your attempts must be alive.

After this you can apply for the exam.

Coming to your case, you say you were born on 5th September 1997 and now you want to apply for the IT JEE 2014, which would be 17 years after your birth.

I must tell you that DOB has got nothing to do with this exam. You would be granted 2 consecutive attempts and so you have to sit for this exam accordingly.

Once you pass out of your 12th boards, you can apply once. And another attempt you can apply the next year.

In a way, you can surely apply for the IIT JEE 2014.

Hope this helps

All the best

Regards
