I am B.Tech(computer eng) student of 5th sem.Can i apply for GATE test before completing my degree.Please reply soon because i want to give Gates test.

first of all you should complete your graduation then you will be able to apply for gate exam

yes you can write GATE while you are in 3rd year of B.Tech.
The score you obtain is valid for two years so that you can join M.Tech after completing 4th year.

if you wanna score a very good score in GATE this year,you may follow the following tips,such as:

1:According to me,maintain a time table to allow yourself to devote minimum6-8hrs per day for the GATE.

2:Then try to collect the base or main material of any subject.

3:.Study the Syllabus as you can.

4:Try to solve the Previous questions papers.

5:Try to Solve more and more problems,

6:Try to discover more and more new own tricks by which you can easily solve any problem in a less time .

7:You can go for self tests.

yes obiviously you can apply for GATE 2011.eligibility for GATE started from final or prefinal year engineering students.so you can apply.

last date for online application is 27th OCT 2010.so hurry.

You can apply it in the pre-final year of your engineering.As you are in 5th sem u can apply it.The gate scores are valid for two years.

Remberer the last date ONLINE submission is 27 OCT 2010,18:00 hrs.
OFFLINE submission last date is 02 NOV 2010.

yea surely you can apply. and also if you secure a good position you will be able to take admission with this year score card.

because GATE score card is valid for two years. the validity of score card which result will be published on 15th march 2011 will be two years that is 15th march 2013. so then you will be able to complete your B.Tech and you can use your GATE score card to take admission for M.Tech using this score card. so do not worry about this.

be prepare for the GATE examination and fill up the form soon for this year. take GATE testes. you may take admission in any GATE couching center to be prepared for the examination.

Yes Jashan you can apply for gate,
but you will have to wait for another year to get
into the admission process.
Try this exam as an learning experience and then apply next year.

yes you can give gate exam in third year but you can take admission only after completing btech. the score is valid for two years.

gate syllubus i s completes over after 5 sem so can attend it and even you can get thourough it also.....

Well of course you can attempt for the GATE exam when your having your B.tech course in the third year itself as your score card is valid for 2 years hence you can make use of the score card even after completing your B.tech course.

If your a GATE aspirant then you need to have a grip over all your core subjects related to your course from the first year itself.Since your from cse you need to concentrate on C&DS,JAVA,UNIX,BLUE J and all other programming languages.

No BCA students are not allowed for GATE.I am giving details of eligibility criteria.

Eligibility for GATE:

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE:

a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
b) Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

Iam happy to say that one can attempt for GATE while he is pursuing his 3 rd year of engineering.

Once the rank you got in GATE will be valid for a period of 2 years.

i am happy to tell u that u can apply for GATE exam before completing graduation..but not before your pre final year.
some additional information regarding GATE...

the gate examination is a single paper of three hour duration of the objective type..and negative marking is adopted for some question in the paper...
the person who get less than 70 % will not get the score card..
the gate scores are valid for 2 years..

one can reappear for the gate exam if one is not satisfied with the earlier score...

Yes you can give entrasnce paper of gate before graduation.Only final year engineering student have opportunity for giving gate exam.The eligibility is final year student can give gate exam.There is no aligibility for pre-final year student.

Tips for crack GATE exam
Be regular during preparation, consistency is the key to great preparation.
You can join coaching institute for GATE coaching.
Build your concepts and don't try to just read and memorize
Online test series is also great idea for preparation.
Divide syllabus and go through only topics that are given in syllabus.

Dear friend,

Only final year and pass-out batch are eligible for GATE exam.

Gate score is valid for TWO years.

There are no age criteria for GATE exam.

The eligibility criteria for GATE Exam:-

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.

(b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

(c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only)

(d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs).
