Re: Can a private student appear for IIT JEE exam?
yes private students are eligible to appear in IIT-JEE entrance exam. There will be no issue for the private students as long as they can completed 12th class from a recognised board. For example if you have completed 12th privately via CBSE board, you can appear for the IIT-JEE entrance exam. But in order to do that there are criteria for the IIT-JEE which you must meet.
Indian Institute of Technology/Joint Entrance Exam is one of the most difficult exam to crack. Every year more than 600,000 candidates appear in the IIT-JEE out of which only few hundreds make the cut. Eligibility for IIT-JEE You must complete class 12th in Science stream from a recognised board. Minimum marks you should have secure in 12th board is 60 percent. SC/ST candidates are required to secure 55 percent marks in 12th board. The percentage requirement for Other Backward Class is same as for the general category candidates (60%) Each candidate can attempt to clear JEE two times in consecutive years. To make it simple, if you appeared in the JEE exam in 2010, you are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012 If you can meet these criteria that it does not matter whether you have completed 12th from regular or private board. You can appear in the IIT-JEE exam. ADMISSION PROCESS Offline Mode: To register for IIT-JEE exam offline each candidate is required to purchase Optical Machine Readable (OMR) Application Form from the bank branches mentioned in the official site for your particular region. Cost of Form General and Other Backward Classes - Rs 1,800 For SC/ST/PH - Rs. 1,000 Female Candidate regardless of category - Rs. 200 Online Mode For online mode of registration, visit the official website - jee.iitd.ac.in/ If you fail to make the cut for IIT-JEE exam, please do not worry because there are plenty of other Engineering entrance exams in India. Among them AIEEE is the most popular. All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is the engineering entrace exam conducted by the CBSE board every year. Eligibility: You must have passed 12th with PCM subjects from a recognised board. You must secure 50 percent marks in 12th board. Candidate from SC/ST/OBC/PH category candidate must secure 40 percent marks. |

Re: Can a private student appear for IIT JEE exam?
Hi friend
Yes you can apply for IIT JEE next year if you have passed high school by private provided you have passed it from a recognized all india board(CBSE, ICSE, etc.) or a state board of any state in India. Also there are few other criteria that you must fulfill: 1. You should pass you 12th standard from a recognized board with Physics, chemistry, Maths as compulsory subjects and secured 60% aggregate in each(55% for SC/ST/OBC category) 2.You should have passed your 12th standard boards this year in order to be eligible for JEE next year because only 2 consecutive attempts are allowed for candidates. 3.You must be a citizen of India If you fulfill the above 3 criteria, then you can appear for IIT-JEE 2013. Good luck |
