Re: Can we appear for UGC NET examination with a degree via distance mode of education?
To be become an Assistant Professor (lecturer) of any recognised university, you are required to qualify entrance examinations such as NET/SET/SLET.
Further, the minimum education required to appearing in these examinations is a master's degree ( in your interested paper for teaching) with at least 55% marks from a recognised university. Marks relaxation upto 5% is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category. So, being a postgraduate degree holder in Organic Chemistry which is related to Environmental Science, you are eligible to apply for NET/SET examinations and therefore to become a professor if you have managed to secure the minimum marks specified in your post graduation degree course and your university is approved for offering distance education. For complete details regarding the NET eligibility criteria, you can refer to the link www.ntanet.nic.in. |

No you are not eligible to apply for NET exam for Environmental science. Because the candidate who have done M.Sc in Environmental science and Environment Chemistry are eligible for this exam.
You are eligible to opt for Chemical sciences as subject for UGC NET exam |
