No-1/4/2011-E.I(B): Preliminary examination of the Civil Services Examination for recruitment to the Services and Posts mentioned below will be held by the Union Public Service Commission on 20th May, 2012 in accordance with the rules published by the Department of Personnel and Training in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 4th February, 2012

Hope your query is regaring civil services preliminary examination. Before appearing for this exam, just check yourselves whether you are fulfilling the required eligibility criteria to appear for this exam or not.

Here it is,
-One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.
-Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to appear for this exam. But, they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

As per age criteria,
-A candidate of OC category should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam.
-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category and upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category.

The selection procedure which you have to go through to be placed in the civil services is by
-Civil Services Aptitude Test
-Civil Services Main Examination
-Interview

SC/ST - 21 to 35 yrs

Defence Personnal - 21 to 33 yrs

Ex serviceman - 21 to 35 yrs
