Candidates who have completed Post Graduation can apply for this exam. They should have secured a minimum of 55% marks in qualifying exam. Those who belong to Reserved category require 50% marks only. The exam is held two times in a year. Final year candidates can also apply for this exam. There is no upper age limit. Questions will be in objective as well as in descriptive type format.

UGC NET EXAMINATION
•The UGC (NET) Humanities is conducted by the University Grants Commission.
•The UGC(NET) Test will determine the eligibility of Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships and for appointment of Lecturers in Universities and colleges in the subjects falling in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences.
•The UGC (NET) Humanities Test comprises of 3 papers.

For NET eligibility, is it required 55% aggregate in M.Com? If a student has ATKT in 1st Sem but if he secures 55% in forth sem, is he eligible for NET?

Well SLET which is also known as SET stands for State Eligibility Test for Lectureship. If you are interested in job of college lecturer in government colleges then it is mandatory to appear for the SLET exam.


SLET is state level exam. Each state conducts its own exam which takes place on different date. Some states conducts SLET exam twice a year while others conducts it once a year. The criteria is however same for all the state SLET exams.


The eligibility criteria for SLET exam is same as the National Eligibility Test (NET) which is central level exam for college lectureship. The criteria is set by the University Grants Commission which conducts the NET entrance exam. However SLET exam is conduct by education board of the respective states.



Eligibility

1. You should be citizen of India.

2. A post graduation degree in any discipline.

3. Must secure at least 55 percent marks.

4. SC/ST candidates must secure minimum of 50 percent marks.

5. Your NET subject should be relevant to post graduation course.

6. Final year students of master degree course can also apply.

7. However they will have to submit their degree within 2 years after clearing the exam.



Age Criteria

1. The age limit for JRF is 28 years.

2. There is no age limit for College Lectureship.

SLET is also known as SET.

It stands for State Level Eligibility Test. This test is conducted by respective states for the posts of JRF and Lecturers.

The Eligibility Criteria for SLET are mentioned hither :

* Post Graduation in any discipline from any recognized university.

* Minimum 55% marks in post graduation.

* Minimum 50% marks for Reserved Category Candidates.

* Age Limit For JRF : 18-28 years.

* There is no age limit for the post of lecturers.

Dear There,

The acronym for SLET is State Level Eligibility Test.

SLET examination is Conducted by different universities in Tamilnadu. Syllabus for the different major subjects are available in the respective universities.

The eligibility criteria required for the SLET examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of post-graduation with 55% marks from any accredited university.

* 50% marks required for SC/ST contenders.

* Age limit:- 20-28 yrs - JRF.
No age limit - Lectureship.

* Nationality:- Indian.
