Hello sir, I have completed Diploma engineering and already qualified for preliminary written test for police constable. I know supreme court has declared that the Diploma engineering and 12th are equivalent but, want to confirmation from you.

*Diploma in any stream of engineering is a technical course and is considered equivalent to senior secondary board of education in most of the government jobs and higher studies course.

*So you will be eligible for recruitment as Police Constable if you have done diploma in engineering and it will be considered as equivalent to 12th.

Yes, the Diploma in Engineering and 12th standard are equivalent. Both these courses can be pursued after completion of 10th standard. The duration of Diploma course is 3 years and that of 11th and 12th standard is 2 years.

But, in general the Diploma course has higher value when compared with 12th standard. There are more job opportunities available to Diploma holders than the candidates who have pursued 12th standard.
