Dear Sir,

I had done Diploma in Automobile Engg from Govt. Polytecnic and now pursuing B.tech (Mech. Engg.) from RVD UNIVERSITY through distance education and am in 7th sem .Sir i am highly interested in UPSC & GATE exams but am confused of its eligibilty after January as it is listed in 44 black listed universities.Sir kindly help with your answer.

The RVD university is approved by UGC and also HRD ministry of india so the degree provided by it, is sufficient for civil services. According to the eligibility criteria of UPSC you should be graduated in any stream through a recognized university by Govt. of India. So, you are eligible for the exam.

Sir, I have appeared 8th semester b tech(civil) exam in june2010. Initially I have submitted my diploma provisional certificate and final marksheets issued by State Couincil & Technical Education orissa at the time of admission. Am I not elligible to receive my b tech certificate. The Institute is demanding original Diploma Certificate. As I hv been passed since the last 30years it is difficult to collect diploma certificate now. Pl. suggest me. With regards, FAZAL.

For appearing at UPSC and GATE exams,one should be graduated with at least 55% marks from Universities recognized by the UGC and AICTE.

If your university is a recognized one under these councils of higher education,then you are surely eligible to appear at the exams like GATE or UPSC exams.

So get informations if the University is a recognized or not.

the first thing that you have to consider is that you must have 55% in your graduation lavel then only you are eligible for appearing in the UPSC exams

Or then only you can sit for the GATE exam ,so do not get confuse on the universities just do your study....

for being eligible in entrance exam like UPSC , GATE,u must have complete ur graduation first with good percentage of marks.. because they want minimum 55%marks in graduation..and ur university must be approved by UGC or AICTE.

so study well and try to get information that ur university is UGC , AICTE approved or not.

if your university is under UCG or AICTE then you are definately eligible for the exams like GATE and UPSC with the condition that you should be graduate with atleast 55% marks.so first get the information whether your university is under any one of the councils.

the GATE eligibilty is given below

1.minimum graduation in engineering.

final year & prefinal year btech students are allowed to attain in the gate exam.

2.after msc doing msc. students are also eligibile to attain in the gate exam.

there have not any age limit to attain in the gate exam.

if your university is UGC or AICT aproved, then you will be eligible for UPSC & GATE.

the approval of joint committee of aicte-ugc-dec is mandatory for all technical or professional courses in distance education mode for govt. services. i have come to know this from UPSC under RTI act. those who have done any degree ( technical and professional) in distance mode is not eligible for UPSC exams if the degree is not approved by this joint committee. Many universities including state, central and deemed universities have started b.tech. or other technical and professional courses without the permission of joint committee which is illegal and misleading. so before joining any under graduate course enquire about its approval from joint committe.
