Do candidates of MBBS eligible for IFS Exam?


hi,
i am very anxious to know about eligibility of mbbs graduates for IFS exam.I have asked few institutes about the same but they didnt gave clear explanation.
UPSC gave a phrase " or equivalent" in the eligibility criteria on its IFS page http://upsc.gov.in/general/ifs.htm
does it cover mbbs also. plz help.

Yes , MBBS degree are eligible for INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAM.

INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAM


EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

A Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent.

Final year student are eligible for IFS exam,

AGE CRITERIA


The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.

EXAM DETAILS

The notification Date---31.03.2012.

The examination Date---14.07.2012.

The last date of submission of form---30.04.2012.

For examination schedule you can visit to UPSC website.

no you cant take medical sciences as a subject...i am planning to take forestry and zoology. Its too tragic actually..

Yes you are eligible to apply for the Indian forest service examination. The Indian Forest service examination is conducted by the Union Public service commission every year. This examination is conducted for the selection of candidate as an officer in Indian forest. The eligibility required for the IFS examination is given below:

Education Qualification

For the Indian Forest service examination a candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the Indian Forest service examination.

Age Limit

For the IFS examination candidate age should be between 21 to 30 years.Relaxation in age is given for the reserved category candidates like SC/ST, OBC and PH.

I am happy to inform you that you are eligible for Indian Forest Services After passing M.B.B.S.

INDIAN FOREST SERVICES

I.F.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts

There are two stage of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview

Bachelor's degree in Science with at least one of the following Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry; or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any stream) / Forestry/ Agriculture; or MBBS.

You have completed B.Sc in Environmental Science so you are applicable for IFS exam.If above mentioned one subject are in your B.Sc degree .

A degree holder from any faculty and from any recognised university can make an attempt for IFS .

So , though you are a MBBS , you can appear for IFS

hi rohit rahul here.I have same doubts like you.I am also a mbbs graduate and assionate about forest service. not sure about eigibility though.Ansswers are all vague.It becomes too risky to not be convinced about eligibility and preparing for exam.If you are still there and want it even today pl do contact me.
