Do I have a chance to get a seat in NIT's if my All India rank is 132000 and OBC rank is 38000?
I scored 75 marks in JEE MAINS 2017. Also I am eligible for JEE ADVANCED 2017 as my rank is 132000 in All India Rank and 38000 in OBC. I belong to OBC caste. Do I have a chance to get seats in NIT's.

As per my knowledge, you are not eligible to get a seat in NIT's if my All India rank is 132000 and OBC rank is 38000. The opening and closing rank for different NIT are given below.
=> National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerala 11 29053 => National Institute of Technology Raipur, Chhattisgarh 26 90465 => National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh 54 87902 => National Institute of Technology, Manipur 18 459666 => National Institute of Technology, Delhi 58 19138 => National Institute of Technology Sikkim 169 22876 => National Institute of Technology Durgapur, West Bengal 69 45159 => National Institute of Technology, Goa 164 83915 => National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, Haryana 35 29806 => National Institute of Technology, Uttrakhand 264 56366 |

The cut off marks for Joint Entrance Examination Main is :
General category: 81 marks. OBC candidate: 49 marks. You are from OBC category and scored 75 marks in JEE Main, you are eligible for Joint Entrance Examination Advanced stage. But chance of getting admission in National Institute of Technology is very less. You should take part in counselling process to know whether you will get admission in any National Institute of Technology or not. |

You have scored 75 marks in JEE Mains Exam and you are eligible for JEE Advance exam 2017. You have got an All India rank of 132000 and 38000 in OBC category. You are interested to know whether you can get any seat in NIT.
**It is very difficult to get a seat in good NIT’s as NIT trichy, NIT Warangal, MNIT Allahabad etc. You have a chance to get seat in some NIT’s of North Eastern states. Following are the list of NIT’s in which there is a chance of getting admission with this score: >>NIT, Nagaland >>NIT, Meghalaya >>NIT, Mizoram >>NIT, Sikkim >>NIT, Manipur >>BIT, Deogarh |

You have no chance of getting admission in National Institute of Technology after getting a rank of 1,32,000 All India. Your category rank is also very high.
As you belong to OBC, you can get admission in good government engineering college other than NITs and IIITs. |

First thing I would like to let you know that having secured 75 marks in JEE Mains and belonging to OBC category you are certainly eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced 2017 as the minimum marks required by OBC category candidates to be eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced is 49 marks.
Further as far as you are concerned about your chances of getting admission in NITs with your AIR around 132000 then it seems difficult to get admission in best NITs with good and popular engineering stream but for exact possibility you need to wait till the counselling procedure to end. For more details about JEE Main you can refer to the link www.jeemain.nic.in. |

No, it is not possible to get a seat in NIT after securing 132000 rank in JEE Main examination. To get a seat in NIT for pursuing Engineering course, you should have secured less than 20000 rank in JEE Main examination. Candidates who have secured top 2,00,000 rank in JEE Main examination are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination. Since, you have secured very high rank in JEE Main examination, you are not eligible to get a seat in NIT for pursuing Engineering course.

Being a OBC candidate you have good chance to get a seat in NIT. Hence, you are suggested to register for online counseling process. After participating in online counseling, you will be issued best NIT as per your rank. After getting the counseling result, you have to visit the campus to complete the admission formalities.

You can get admission in any National Institute of Technology with rank of 1,32,000 but not among top NITs.
It will be more clear when you get into counselling process of JEE Main. |
