You can do B.Tech after Diploma/Polytechnic as laterals. Lateral Entry Option is available in almost all the Top Engineering Colleges. But there is a tough competetion out there and very limited seats for the Lateral Entry Students.

Anyone who has completed engineering diploma programme from an AICTE approved institution with minimum aggregate of 45% marks is eligible to sit for the lateral entry exam. Admission will be granted to the second year of four-year degree engineering and five year architecture programme through lateral entry.
