hi am 6/18 in worse eye and another is in normal vision. Am i eligible for ips 2015 exam? Am very interested in ips only.pls answer me...

To become an IPS Officer, you need to first apply for Civil Services Examination which is conducted by UPSC.

Yes, you are eligible for IPS if you have a graduation degree and if you are in the age group of 21-30 years with having 6/18 in worse eye.

If you fulfill below given criteria then you are eligible for IPS 2015 exam.

Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:-

Eye Sight

For Worse Eye :6/12 or 6/9 distant vision
For good Eye :6/6 or 6/9 distant vision

Height

For Men : 165 cm(AROUND)
For Women :150 cm(AROUND)

OBC /SC/ST :

Male:160 cm and female :145 cm

Chest

Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm).

Female candidates-79cm(+ 5cm).

Those candidates who are aspiring to become an IPS officer, then the candidate must appear and qualify in Civil Service Exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for every year.

Eligibility for IPS examination 2015:

-> Candidates should have a Three year Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised university and Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply, subject to submission of requisite proof of qualification 2015.

-> Candidates age should not below than 21 years and not be more than 30 years and relaxations in upper age limit for SC /ST is 5 years, for OBC is 3 years.

Physical Standard:

Height:

-Male Candidate : 165cm (In Case Of SC/ST/OBC : 160cm)
-Female Candidate : 150cm (In Case Of SC/ST/OBC : 145cm)

Eye Sight:

-6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

Regarding IPS::

• As many of us knw about Civil service Examination, its not only gives job securities but also provides reputation, power and ability to change the system. IPS is somewhat and quite similar to IAS. IPS comprises of higher level police which deals with maintenance of law and order across the country. For getting into IPS candidates have to write Competitive exam i.e. CSE which is conducted by UPSC every year.

IPS 2015 Eligibility::

Educational Qualifications:-

• Candidates should posses degree from a recognized university or body or other educational institutions established under act of Parliament or of recognized through UGC act 1956 or any equivalent qualification.

Age Limit::

• Candidates should have attained 21 years of age and should not cross 32 years of age. This is for General category. Relaxation is given to candidates who are under SC or ST or OBC. Like for SC or ST its 5 years. 3 years of OBC class.

IPS stands for Indian Police Services and examination comes under UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). To apply for this examination, first you have to fulfil all the necessary eligibility criteria. If your eyesight is very week, then you will not be able to clear the medical test. For UPSC Civil service examination, this is the Eyesight criteria:

~~ Eye sight: 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
For worst eye: 6/12 or 6/9
The correction is by lenses only.

~~ High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness.
~~ Vision should stereoscopic.
~~ Near vision J 1 for good eye.
~~ J2 for worst eye.

This is the criteria for Eyesight, apart from this you have to fulfil the age and education criteria mentioned below.

Graduation is necessary to appear for UPSC Civil service preliminary examination called CSAT. Graduates in any stream are eligible for UPSC civil service examination.

Your age should be between 21 to 30 years, age relaxation is only applicable for reserving candidates.

The Notification of CSAT Preliminary examination will be published on 16.05.2015.
