Eligibility, preparation and steps involved in ACS exam?


What is the eligibility to appear acs exam? How much time is needed to prepare the exam? How many steps are there for the examination? Can i get the answers in details?

Eligibility for assam civil services exam

-must be an Indian citizen.

-age between 21-38 years

-age limit is calculated on the basis of matriculation/HSLC admit card/certificates by board/council.



Minimum Qualification Required

-Should hold a degree from any university by an act of central or legislature in India or by parliament.

-must possess the qualification on the date of submission of the applications.



Examination consist of two stages:

-The premilinary
-The main examination

ACS - Assam Civil Services

APSC or ASC is Assam Public Service Commission holds a combined examination to recruit aspirants from all over India for the following posts and vacancies :


** Eligibility Criteria :

* The candidate must be a citizen of India.
* The candidate must satisfy the age limit i.e. 21 years to 38 years as on 01.01.2017
* For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxable for 5 years.
* Also, for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) the age criteria is relaxed for 5 years i.e. upto 43 years.
* The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university or any other other university such as Central Government.

** Examination Pattern :

The examination is held in two stages :
* Preliminary Examination
* Main Examination

> Preliminary Examination consist of MCQ Objective type questions
* Paper - I : General Studies
* Paper - II : 1 Optional Subject

> The Main Examination consists of 4 papers
* Paper - I : General English
* Paper - II : General Studies
* Paper - III (a & b): Any two Optional subjects
* Paper - IV (a & b) : Any two Optional subjects

** Exam dates :

* Date of release of notification : 30th December, 2016
* Last date to submit the offline application : 9th February, 2017

** Tips to prepare :

* How much time is required is based on your dedication and smart preparation techniques.

* Only less than 10% applicants qualifies in the examination.
