Sir, I have completed my Diploma in Automobile Engineering from State Board of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh. Now, can I go for AMIE Automobile? Do I need to appear for any kind of entrance or interview or can I apply directly?

Yes, you can certainly go for AMIE examinations which is conducted in every June and December in all major cities of India. You would need to give the written examination to get the admission. You can download the application form from the website www.amieindia.in.
You can appear in the examination anywhere in India. However, you are not allowed to appear in more than 4 subjects at a time. If you fails in one subject, then you can appear for the same paper again until you do not clear in all the subjects.

Those who wish to do AMIE must have passed
A recognized 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or its equivalent in any branch of engineering.
Any educational qualifications equivalent to the above, are also eligible to apply for AMIE.
Those who pursue AMIE after their Diploma course are usually known as Diploma Stream Students (Senior Technician members).

Age

Minimum age 17 years. No maximum age restriction.


Application procedure:.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for AMIE now. (Sorry, admission for AMIE cannot be done online.)
1. Get the print out of the application form and prospectus.
For Diploma Holders
2. Fill up the form.
3. Attach necessary copies of certificates.
4. Make fee payments (Cheque/DD/netbanking/mobile payment)
5. Send form by post or courier (Address is mentioned in the application form).

Documents Required

Attachments needed along with the application form for membership are

1. Two passport size photographs to be affixed on the application form.
2. Self Attested copy of your Aadhaar.
3. Self Attested copy of Secondary /SSLC certificate .
4. Self Attested copy of Pass/Provisional certificate of 3 years Diploma.
5. Self Attested copy of Final Semester Marksheet of Diploma.
6. Membership Registration fee in the form of Demand Draft/Cheque/Netbanking Details.
