I want to know what are the criteria for which a valid GATE scorer taken admission for MTECH on the basis of GATE score may not eligible to get stipend .

According to UGC norms, the stipend is given to every student

having a satisfactory performance in academics.

Also if you give 8 hours a week for research or teaching stuff

in the institute you will get the stipend.

Actually in my case I have taken admission on the basis of GATE score. But due to missing of my B.Tech certificates I am unable to submit before my 1st semester exam of Mtech as a result of which I have been denied to sit for the exam but for the 2nd sem onwards I have completed all the formalities of admission. For now onwards may I get any stipend , if yes then to whom should I approach???

minimum required CGPA in B.tech should be 7.5 then your are eligible.
you should also take 10 hours of classes at the institute.

IF THE STUDENT OBTAINED 1% LESS TO THE CUT OF PERSENTAGE MARKS FOR ADMISSION THROUGH GATE IN IIT , STUDENDS ARE ALLOWED TO BE CONSIDER FOR PG MTECH IN NIT COLLEGE.

Qualifying Marks for CS:
General 25
OBC(Non-Creamy) 22.5
SC / ST / PD 16.67

Qualifying Marks for Mechanical:
General 30.81
OBC(Non-Creamy) 27.73
SC / ST / PD 20.54

If a student has backlogs in 2 sem or 3 sem of MTech , wheather GATE STIPEND will be given or not

hii , you will get in the bes institutes of VTU like the RVCS,SJCE,NIE,MSRIT,BIT.

with good stipends and placements.

actually it depends on the year to year valuation bcz,it changes in the highest mark in the gate score

I m Parmar Dhiren
I m gate qualified student and doing my M.E
I m in the third sem and I got the stipend of rupees 8000 pm just 2 months b4
I got the first class in the first class in the first sem but in the second semester i could not perfom better and failed in one of the subject , now the question is , can I still get the stipend of the up coming months , I have started my research work in third sem and i will reappear for the failed subject in the month of december...Please reply

hi friend,

if you get admission through gate you will get stipend.

If you have any arrears in semisters you will not get stipend

You have to give classes to b.tech students according to colleges rules.

Based on your score, the institutes that you can get admitted into are:-

once you obtain your admission in the IITs, IISc or the NITs, you would be eligible for a stipend of around 8000/- per month to cover your expenses for tuition , books, accommodation etc..

2. Masters in any branch of science, Maths, Statistics, computer applications.

3. Post Diploma/ Post B.Sc

You can either prepare for the exam yourself, or approach a coaching institute.

REPUTED COACHING INSTITUTES ARE:

If you are preparing yourself, some of the good books that will help you are

1.MADE EASY Publication

2.Khanna publication.

3. G.K Publishers ( contains a little bit of mistakes).


I guess this would be sufficient. and once you start your preparation, hang onto it.
try your level best. atleast 3 months preparation would be necessary.

Eligibility Criteria for getting stipend after taking admission in M.Tech. through GATE

1.you should complete your B.Tech degree from a recognized university.

2. you should complete Masters in any branch of science, Maths, Statistics, computer applications.

3.>And a valid GATE Score.

4.>Take admission in a Government Institute(like:IIT's,NIT's,JU,VIT etc.) through your GATE Score.

The Gate cut off marks change year by year,This year qualify marks was:-

1.>Qualifying Marks for Computer Science:
General 25
OBC(Non-Creamy) 22.5
SC / ST / PD 16.67

2.>Qualifying Marks for Mechanical engineering:
General 30.81
OBC(Non-Creamy) 27.73
SC / ST / PD 20.54


If,you go through this GATE cut of marks you will get Rs 12,000/month.

GATE is the aptitude exam in engineering conducted every year for determining the eligibility of the engineers. With GATE score one can apply for post graduation and for public sector jobs.
The eligibility for appearing in the exam is
bachelor degree in the field of engineering and
there is no age limit for appearing in the exam.
There is no restriction in the number of attempt.
The gate score is valid for a period of two years
GATE qualified aspirant get seats into the college based on the marks in gate . In such case the aspirant will be provided with a stipend for encouraging them. If you have joined masters degree course with GATE score then you are eligible to get stipend

GATE exam if for getting admissions in Govt. organizations like IIT's, NIT's and some other reputed Govt. institutions like UVCE etc.
if u want to do M.tech without appearing for gate, u can opt for some private Engg. colleges or try Bits Pilani, where this has its own entrance exam.

any student who qualify GATE exam and took admission in any of the government/ private college for M.tech , student get stipend of Rs 8000 per month.

after some year it may increase to Rs 12000...
