Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
Hi,
In case of opportunities in both of the Govt and private sector, i would like to take the side of ECE. If you want to walk with the trend of current market of our country, then you must choose ECE. Other than this point ,mechanical engg is an evergreen engineering field. This field has very good prospectus in the Govt and as well as in the private giant construction sector. As an electronics engineer you can indulge into both your core field and as well as in the software field if you want. Major software MNCs have requirements of engineers of ECE background also. So now choice is yours. Without hesitation make out a decision of your own! Best of luck! |

Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
ece is the best branch of all kind of engg
because it is dynaic branch but mechanical engg is not a dynamical it use the same convential law for its research but the electronics & telecommunication engg used the law beyond the conventional law of advanced research & one thing is that every day in ece is like a inventory day ece is like spark & mech is like a fire . so ece is the next step of mech engg in resent era if ece & mech will combine definatly they will rocks the world |

Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
hello friend,
This selection of branch has a lot to do with which college you are studying in.If its an iit or nit then for sure mechanical is better option because there you will have good companies coming to your college for campus interview moreover its an evergreen branch less susceptable to market conditions. But if you are studying in some private college you have less chance of good mechanical companies coming to your college for campus interview and more chance of a software company like infosys, tcs, wipro etc, so here is the beauty of ece,you can very easily get selected in software companies because ece has a lot of papers common to CSE and IT like networking, dbms which mechanical students are not taught so ece has a better scope in these conditions and if you are good with ece subjects you always stand a chance of getting a job in electronic companies. good luck |

Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
dear friend,
My friend , you are bit confuse about your future career in engineering field. Then don't get confuse , you should go for a stream in which you have more interest. Both the streams are good , and job prospective.. Because both are core stream ,So definitely you will have lots of job opportunities in core technical field... If you go for ECE stream then you can go for both the sectors, software sectors as well as technical sectors... Now a days IT companies are hiring more electronics stream students than any other streams.. Beside this you can apply for all core sector job.. So, definitely you will have lots of job opportunities.. In mechanical stream, you have to go for core technical jobs, where you may have to do lots of physical work , or you have to go outside under the sun.. You can avoid this things , if you go for ECE stream... In electronics field you have to do sophisticated jobs, so no physical strength is required.. That's why I will suggest you to go for ECE stream.. All the best.. |

there are many branches with their own importance such as ECE,EEE,IT,CSE,Mech...etc Among all the branches my opinion is ECE is the best one and also most preferable one. Mech is a good one but it is not considered in some fields. But ECE is ever green branch....... For ECE there are job offers in both software and hardware fields. so better to go with the ECE........... All the best... Have a bright future........... |

Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
In all the treams of engineering, evryone used to confuse for choosing stream/ line because they want to get more salary and good job opportunities. Let me say about my family. My father is a Mechanical engineer, he got alot of money and also got job opportunities but he said is that Mechanical engineering is one of best stream among Engg but My son, i suggest you to choose ECE because you wont have any hesitation for getting job. Job for ECE is at your doorstep. Manager is always better than worker. So, Mechanical is just worker while ECE is manager.
The word of father made me feel to choose ECE. Now i'm choosing ECE but it depends on your thoughts. All the best of luck for to be Indian technologist |

Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
Both streams of Engineering that you mentioned in the question have great scope. ECE and Mechanical are considered as evergreen streams of Engineering. There will never be any shortage of jobs in these streams.
However if you need to pick one out of these two, I suggestion would be that you go with Electronics and Communication Engineering. The ECE offers better scope in government as well the private sector. It also gives you opportunity to work in different fields, some of which are the strongest sectors in India. Public Sector Undertaking In government sector look no further than the PSU jobs. Electronics and Communication Engineering has huge job scope in Public Sector Undertaking. Most of these companies have requirement for the ECE graduates. If you meet the criteria below, I don't think there will be any issue. Eligibility 1. B.Tech degree with minimum of 60 percent marks. 2. There should be no pending backlogs. 3. A valid GATE score. Not more than 2 years old. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years for General. 5. It is relaxed by 3 years for OBC while 5 years for SC/ST. List of PSU Companies ISRO DRDO BHEL IOCL BPCL NALCO SAIL ONGC ECIL GAIL BEL MTNL BSNL Telecom Telcom is one of the major sectors in India that requires Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates. Most telecom companies have jobs for such candidates. You can apply for job in following companies. Aircel MTS BSNL MTNL Idea Cellular Bharti Airtel Vodafone Reliance Communication Tata Tele IT No sector hires more Electronics and Communication Engineering candidates then the Information Technology. Infosys is often credit for hiring maximum number of ECE graduates in India. Other IT companies too are very keen to hire such graduates. Accenture HCL Dell Intel Infosys Satyam TCS Microsoft IBM HP Wipro |

Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
Both fields are good.Coming to Mechanical has more opportunities compared to ECE in government field. If you want to go for govt. jobs or settled early in your life then go for ME.If you want to go for higher studies and your interest towards innovation go for ECE.First
think yourself in which are you more interesting either electronics or Mechanics. |

Re: Which engineering course has a better scope, ECE or Mechanical?
I must say everyone thatvon past 10 years mech and ece had good demand but mech had an upper hand as you would have many choices to make in masters then always see in any colleges mech has vast placements than ece but ece is equally good. But few choices in masters the only diff bw ece and mech is ece has an extra of communication and the jobs fr ece are reallly hectic so mech rockdssss
