GATE examination is conducted by IIT's every year for admission in the Mtech courses in the IIT's.Any students who have completed his engineering in any streams can apply for the exam .

Students who have completed their Master degree in science or in computer application can also apply for the exam

There is no age limit for the examination .

GATE is the Entrance Exam for the M.Tech courses in the country. Its is organized by the IIT's to select candidates on the merit of the exam for the M.Tech programs offered by the various colleges like IIT, NIT's, BITS, etc all over India...


GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering


Its one of the toughest post graduate exams in our country, and from this year a lot of PSU's would also recruit via the GATE score and All India Rank.


The GATE is scheduled on 12th February 2012, and so you should be done with your preparations by that date.

Since you are from Civil Engineering, the competition is very less for you as compared to the Engineers in Electronics and Computer streams.
