Re: GATE M.Tech from mechanical branch after B.E degree from Industrial & production branch
yes, you can very well apply for mechanical stream, but the graduates who have completed B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, find tough to clear the GATE exam, and if you want to clear, you should do a lots of hard work to clear the exam,
anyhow there is no restriction on GATE stream on which discipline to attend, any discipline student can attend any stream to their wish, then all the best apply for GATE and do your best.... |

Dear friend
I think you can apply for a course in the field of Mechanical engineering which is also concerned with production engineering but the course is run by Mechanical department. For example Following are the programs in IITB in Mechanical Engineering(MTech) 1) Thermal and Fluids Engineering: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical/ Aerospace Engineering or Automobile Engg. or Chemical Engg. with valid GATE score in any discipline. 2) Design Engineering: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering or Automobile Engg. or Machine Tool Engineering with valid GATE score in any discipline. 3) Manufacturing Engineering: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Machine Tool Engineering or Industrial Engineering with valid GATE score in any discipline. The candidate is expected to appear in a paper appropriate to the discipline of his/her qualifying degree. The candidate is, however, free to choose any paper according to his/her admission plan, keeping in mind the eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he/she wishes to seek admission. |

Re: GATE M.Tech from mechanical branch after B.E degree from Industrial & production branch
dear friend,
After completion of BE in industrial and production branch , you want to do M.tech in mechanical stream.. For that you have to appear in GATE exam.. After qualifying in GATE exam you will get a chance to take admission in M.tech course.. As you want to do M.tech in Mechanical stream then you have to write the exam on the syllabus of Mechanical engineering.. If you agree to do this , then you can go for it.. All the best.. |
