GATE Production And Industrial Engineering Papers
The GATE Production and Industrial Engineering Paper is to be answered in three hours. It is a 100 marks paper with 60 questions in it. All the questions are of objective type where there are four alternatives given following each question. There is only one correct answer for each question. The answer has to be darkened by the candidate in a separate response sheet called the Optimum Response Sheet or OPR provided by the supervisor.
There are no questions from outside the portion. There are 20 questions from no. 1 to 20 carrying one mark each and another 40 questions from no. 21 to 60 carrying 2 marks each. Only one answer is acceptable. In case of incorrect answer, there is a deduction of marks. With every incorrect response from the first 20 questions the candidate loses 1/2 mark and with every incorrect response from the remaining questions the candidate loses 2/3 marks. All these marks are deducted from the total score acquired by the candidate. There is rough sheet given at the end of the paper to do any kind of calculation or solving.
