i am going to do ba and i also want to do civil services preparation.so please suggest me some good subject for ba,which are also helpful for civil services.

Nice to hear your aspiration that you are very much interested in Civil Services.
Actually you need to know about the eligibility criteria of the examination.

The basic Eligibility criteria of this examination is as follows :-
->You should have a degree from any discipline of a Recognized Indian University.
->You should have at least of 21 years of age while applying for the examination.

The known thing is that Civil Service examination which is conducted by UPSC is the toughest competitive exam of India.
Its fame is all because after clearing this selection procedure you will get the job which is the top Sitting job in India.

So, The preparation for this examination should be as early as possible. but not the preparation which is buttifying books which are prescribed to crack the examination.

because you will not be interested as there is lot of time to actually write the examination so you may get isolated and de interested to prepare directly the subjects like
General studies,
Geography
some optional subjects.

so as you are just a BA first year candidate just you be prepared for the upcoming tasks slowly like.
getting mentally and physically prepared for the examination. and concentrating on things which an IAS officer has to concentrate like

->Upcoming changes in administration.
->some of the hot current affairs like Jan Lok Pal Bill etc.,

you should be tied up with all the general knowledge up to date.

No doubt you have to be thorough with Current Affairs.

This is all you can do before starting actual preparation.
I don't support or suggest the actual preparation from now itself because it may de interest you because you are not mentally prepared to take up tasks like studying 200 - 300 pages without any touch with that subject. So first you have to make that mood to take that big tasks. Okay I hope you understood.

Dear friend,

candidate has to choose two subjects from a list of 25 optional subjects. Following are the not allowed combinations in the CIVIL SERVICE EXAM syllabus-

Political Science International relations and Public Administration,
Commerce Accountancy and Management,
Anthropology and Sociology,
Mathematics and Statistics,
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Veterinary Science,
Management and Public Administration,
Any TWO branches of Engineering,
Medical Science and Animal Husbandry Veterinary Science,
Combination of TWO Literature

it sounds goods, that you wants to appear in IAS exams.this exam is conducted by UPSC every years.the age limit exist for this exam is 21-30 for general candidates,5 years relaxation for SC\ST candidates.
Geography,general studies,civics,history,etc etc and
some optional subjects may be good choice for you!!!

it is totally depend on the candidate that what is his choice for the preparation of civil service exam. there are various subjects for the this exam you can choose them according your own choice and easyness. the political science, history, geography,civics etc are good and scoring subjects for the civil exam. you may choose any of them.

if you want to go for civil services then you can choose
Polity
History
Public administration
economics
civics
Commerse
as your subjects in BA as these are the important subjects in civil services examination and you also can study these subjects in your BA.
so choose the subjects of your interest and prepare well for UPSC.
