i want to know about govt jobs in railway. i am final year student of B.E. from computer science stream.

dear friend,

as you are a computer science student so the only way to join Indian railway is passing the exam of UPSC.

because you are not eligible for IES which are also conducted by UPSC.only electrical,mechanical,civil and electronics engineering students are eligible for IES.

you can join Indian railway by passing UPSC exam.after passing this exam you can choose IRTS(Indian railway and traffic services).in this way you can become IRTS officer in Indian railway.

In railway there are many opportunities for CSE.dont worry about it.U can write any exams regarding to railway department.u can go ur wished sector in it.but there are no notifications still about it.reservation plays a major irole in this exam.be positive and prepare for the exams

yes you can apply for the jobs of railway on the basis of entrance test so
elligibility:
60% marks in b.e in cse.
tif it is clear exam then you have to go staff selection comission which is select to you for a jobs.
application fees 100rs only which is purchased on the post office in india.

the criteria to attain in the railways recruitment exam is graduation in engineering with minimum 60% marks.

you can try for following designations..

*Section Research Engineer (salary 25k+/-)
*Section Engineer(salary 22k+/-)
*Junior Research Engineer-I /II(salary 17k+/-)
*Teacher(Computer) (salary 18k+/-)

* and ofcourse the general post that require Graduation degree.

But the vacacies and designations for CSE engineers in india will increase as days progress.

The railways in india need EEE, ECE and Mech Engineers as a part of Their technical team at a large scale.

Government publishes a newspaper weekly called 'Employment News'. You can get various information about govt. jobs in it.

i think there is a big scope for govt. jobs in indian railway for computer science stream.there r various department in railway on computer base related such as
1.communication department.
2.account section.
3.ticket counter section.
4.controlling section.
this department needed many computer science engineers.so don't worry . many jobs r waiting for u.just prepare urself for exam.
and obviously u can get jobs.

if you want a job in government field & you are a computer science engineer then may you can find the job in government field through IES examination, check out it in the website of upsc.
IES is an entrance exam called Indian Engineering Service,, check it out.

the railways generally takes students from the core engineering branches but i think these days they are taking people from computer branches also,
you can log on to website of railway recruitment board for seeing the vacancies which is suited to your qualification

you can do Government Jobs in Indian Railways .

for that you have to pass UPSC exam with good all India rank.you can join Indian railway as an IRTS officer.

you can get promotion upto DRM, GM, MEMBER RAILWAY BOARD etc.you can also become chairman railway board.

yes you can get a job in the railway after passing the b.tech in computer science and engineering. when vaciency are come out then you can fill and give the entrance exam. thanking you,,

The only way to get in railway is the engineering services into which only four subjects are there : electrical, ECE, mechanical and civil. Since you do not belong to any of the stream hence you should take your subject among these four. Now in the IES, post are alloted in railway as:
Indian Railway Service of *** Engineers
Indian Railway Stores Service (*** Engineering Posts)
Central ***Engineering Service (*** Engineering Posts)

Here three asterisk (***) sign is the branch name into which you take the IES exam.

Yes, CSe graduate are eligible for railway technica;l jobs.Many vacanies are released from time to time in employment newspaper so I will suggest you to go through employment newspaper or rilway website to keep yourself update with the latedt vacancy

Indian forest exam
Cicivil Service exam
NDA
CDS
ASsistant Commandant Exam

there are very small amount of jobs in railway for computer engineers. u can only apply as a graduate. and in that case ur degree is wasted. u can apply for upsc exam.

ies is definitely entrance exams but cse is not included in that.

Yes, there is a vaccancy in railways recruitment board for technical grade for which you need to be graduate and your age should lie between 18-30 years.

i am very sorry to say you that there is no any job available for you in indian railway on the basis of your engineering degree in computer science .you can sit in the exam of upsc and on the basis of your graduation degree .but you are not elligible for the best exam conducted by railway for engineers that is ies . in this exam only students of ece ,mechanical,electrical e.t.c can sit.
