As your age is 24, you can apply for the post till 27th. Apply to Addl Dte Gen of Recruiting (TGC Entry) Army HQs West Block III, RK Puram, New Delhi- 110066 in response to the advertisement published in Employment News and other major national dailies in the month of April/October for regular commission through Technical Graduate Course conducted at Indian Military Academy , Dehra Dun .

For Lady Officers' there are a multiple entry schemes, which would depend on what is your graduation......if it's a professional one, like law etc, there are entry schemes for that ...... different entry for NCC 'C' cert holders.

But, you can appear for the CDSE now a days, held by the UPSC twice a year ...... check their website.

And the best place to know the vacancies and time of entrances and interview, plz check joinindianarmy.nic.in / joinindianarmy.gov.in

the training will be at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai, for 11 months ..... training starts at mar/apr and sept/oct every year ...... so the interview after the entrance / shortlisting is held 3 - 6 months before the training starts ..... accordingly is the entrance / shortlisting.

My suggestion would be, if you could go and have a word with some newly passed out Lieutenant Lady Officer .... they can suggest you better.

Sir/Madam My elder brother had got 90% in PCM in the final exam held by C.B.S.E. His age is 19 year. But his height isn't as mentioned eiligbity critirea. Is he can go for Indian Army Officer? Thanks.

Yes you can become an officer in Indian Army.

You can apply for the post of an officer if you falls in the following criteria.

1. Age: 19-25 years

2. Educational Qualification: Graduation in any stream from a recognised university

3. Marital Status: Married/unmarried.

4. Nationality: Indian.


If you stands eligible, Indian Army publishes notification for the vacancy of 175 posts (Twice a year).

The notification is provided in employment news and leading daily news papers.

Its great opportunity to you to serve for your own country,if you have the caliber you must join the Indian Army.

As you have not yet completed your graduation level,you have to complete it ,then you can apply for then you can get chance to take admission in Indian Army.

There are some selection procedure such as:
Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recuirt the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA)


According to the Eligibility Criteria:

i)For IMA and OTA you must have any degree from any recognized University.

ii)For Naval Academy you should have B.Sc in Physics or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering(BE).

iii)For (AFA) you should have the degree of recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering(BE)

Age Limit:

i)For IMA:19-24 Years

ii)For OTA:19-23 Years

iii)For Naval Academy:19-22 Years

iv)For AFA :19-25 Years


They select the students through the

i) Written Test

ii)Intelligence & Personality test

iii)Medical test.

Exam Pattern

i) Written Test

for IMA / Naval Academy / AFA
All the three papers are of objective type containing the
English
General Knowledge
Elementary Mathematics
total 300 marks,each paper 100 marks.

for OTA
All the two papers are of objective type containing the
English
General Knowledge
total 200 marks,each paper of 100 marks.

ii)Intelligence & Personality test :Generally here checks the Personality of the candidate,GD,group planning, physical fitness test, interview, small lectures on general issues & psychological tests. etc...

iii)Medical test.
After getting selected in interview ,the candidates are called for medical examination which is conducted by Military Hospitals.

Pre-Commission training After getting final selected the candidates are called for Training.

Officer POst in Indian Army can be applied through appearing NDA and CDS entrance exam depending upon one's eligibility criteria.

NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health.

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

The candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good Physical Fitness, is eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy of CDS.

The NDA and CDS can be applied on line through official website of UPSC.

The selection for both the cases are through written exam folowed by personal interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.
