Re: How to become an Astronaut after passing 10th with 8 CGPA? What are the advantages if I crack IIT JEE exam
Your question is little confusing since you are talking about a lot of things at the same time. But still I try my best to answer that. Firstly if you want to become Astronaut then there is no point for writing ISRO exam because despite all that ISRO has achieved in past few years the organization can not send men into space.
It would still take several years before ISRO could send men to space. That rules out possibility of you working as astronaut in ISRO. Therefore there is no need to give exam for job in ISRO. At the moment only NASA can send you to space as astronaut. However it is a very difficult and lengthy procedure to become astronaut for NASA. In this process it does not matter whether you have obtained Engineering degree from IIT or ISAT. A degree from both these universities would have to advantage when you would apply for the job of astronaut. Before I make it clear for you about how to become astronaut at NASA, I would like you to know that there is no way for you to get spaceship pilot job in NASA. It is because this post is reserved for the US national only. What you can apply for is mission specialist. Here is the complete procedure. 1. PCM should be your subjects in Class 12th board. 2. To become astronaut you would need graduation degree in the fields of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, biology or B.Tech in Aerospace. 3. Since you are preparing for Engineering, go for B.Tech in Aerospace. After completing it, appear in GATE exam and then complete post graduate degree followed by PhD. 4. The next eligibility to become Mission Specialist is 3 years of related and progressively experience. This is not going to be major issue. 5. Once you have the required experience, appear in the NASA exam for the recruitment of Scientists and Astronauts. Those who are selected by the NASA get the chance to become astronaut. For next few months of perhaps couple of years, you would go through extensive training to withstand the challenges of space. This include Aircraft weightless training lessons, Shuttle Mission Simulator and much more which would be supervised by the NASA officials. Once you complete the training without any issues, you would be soon get the seat in one of the several space missions by NASA. |
