After 9th standard, you will have to complete your 10th standard with decent marks.

Then, choose PCM stream in 11th and 12th to be eligible for appearing in engineering entrance exams.

After qualifying entrance exams, apply for Aerospace Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering to be pursued in engineering college.

Then, you can appear for GATE exam.

If you qualified the exam well, then you can get recruited into ISRO or DRDO.

Here are top space research centres worldwide:
  • the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO),
  • the European Space Agency (ESA),
  • the China National Space Administration (CNSA),
  • the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA),
  • the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and
  • the Russian Federal Space Agency (RFSA or Roscosmos)

Candidates studying in 9th standard are not eligible to join Indian Space Research Organization for becoming Space Scientist. The minimum qualification required to apply for ISRO entrance exam is bachelor's degree in engineering or technology from a recognized university.

After 9th standard, you need to do 10th then 10+2 in Science stream with PCM subjects and then bachelor's degree. You can prepare for Joint Entrance Exam conducted by CBSE for admission in top engineering institutes of India. You should focus on Mathematics and Physics a lot as it will be helpful later on in space research.

List of Best Space Research Centers:

>>Vikram Sarabhai Space Center.

>>Liquid Propulsion System Center.

>>ISAC, Bangalore.

>>SDSC, Nellore.
