sir , i m persuing my b.tech in electronics& comm.(pre final year) ,so plz tell how can i enter in merchant navy ?

yes offcourse,
as you are a engineer you can join merchant navy directly.

you have to go for a 10month pre-sea training in marine-engineering
which is offered by recruiting company itself,or it is also provide by MERI,kolkata.

the openings in merchant navy are of radio officers,navigation officers and marine engineers.
institute conducting courses in this field are TS CHANAKYA,MUMBAI AND MARINE ENGINEERING RESEARCH INSTITUTE(MERI) MUMBAI AND KOLKATTA.

thats a brave decision to go to merchant navy
since u r in pre final years u shud start searching for the company u would go
there is no written exam.......only medicals...

after BE u can directly apply for it without doing any kind of course.....
its just a month training and u r ready to board a ship........
u can apply for it to any of the reputed company which recruits freshers to ship........

its avery casual and regular check up......they will test ur blood,bp,x-rays....along with this they are very strict about....perect 6/6 eyesight without colourlindness and audio test for ur ears.....

after every 6 months sail u have to pass in all the medical norms....then only u can sail......

the merchant navy is excellent career option in foreign countries ,i will advice to take admission in some foreign country like england.

for entering merchant navy you have to appear for the different exam conducted by different companies.some of the best companies are :-

for that you have to appear for exam conducted by different institutes in the month of april an may and after that if you are selected then go for training and then to any of the company in which you wish to work.

Educational qualification: The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

Selection: Candidates are selected for the B.Sc. Nautical Science degree of TS Chanakya, Mumbai; and the four-year Marine Engineering degree course at Marine Engineering Research Institute, in Calcutta and Mumbai, known as DMET, through the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), which assesses the candidate’s knowledge of physics, chemistry and mathematics. The examination is followed by personal interviews/counseling, where the interviewers assess the degree of alertness, and awareness of the external environment, in the candidates and their suitability for a career in the Merchant Navy.

in my opinion you should study properly your own subject in which you have taken the degree.just make command on your own field,you will surely will get the job.

for that you have to appear for the entrance exam conducted by different companies and institutes also,pass the exam,interview,and medical test and go for merchant navy.

as you are from the electronics & communication department,
you get the job in merchent navy as the post of Radio officer.
for this 1st you have to get the training from the marine institute.

As you have said that you are an ECE engineer,
you can join the merchant navy directly .

First you will be reqired to do a training of 6 months then you can do job.

then go for a 9-10 month pre-sea training in marine-engineering.
