Hi friends, I am a FYBCom student. I just passed my 12th Board exam. I have an interested in NCC and Indian Army. I want to join Indian Army either through NCC or direct. So tell me how can I join Indian Army or NCC?

Those who want to join the Indian Army after 12th can join the National Defense Academy (NDA)(common entrance exam for Indian army/Indian Navy/Indian air force.

In your final year of Graduation, you need to pass the Combined Defence Services Exams(CDS),
or
Indian Military Academy (Non Tech)
or
Short Service Commission (Non Tech)
or
Short Service Commission (Tech Men & Women)
or
NCC Special (Men & Women)
or
TGC (Education)
or
JAG (Men & Women)
or
UES
or
TGC (Education)/AEC

Do look for the content attached with eligibility criteria

NDA and CDS are two such defence exams that you can appear for joining Indian Army.

If your age is between 16 and 19 years and have passed 12th standard, then you can appear for NDA exam.

However, if your age is between 19 and 24 years and have completed graduation from a recognized college, then you can apply for CDS exam.

From both the exams, you can join Indian Military Academy after qualifying their exam stages.

There are two stages for NDA and CDS exam that are conducted by UPSC.

• Written Test
• SSB Interview

After qualifying these two stages, you will undergo Medical Test.

Then, you will be getting admission to Indian Military Academy.

Since, you are currently in First Year of B.Com, so you can apply for CDS once you reach in third year/final year of B.Com. If you failed in first attempt, you can apply again till your age limit.
